" booked a one-night stay and checked in without any issues at first. However, when I got to the room, I immediately noticed there was no air conditioning—and it was a hot day. I went to the front desk to ask about it, and they told me that rooms with AC are available, but for an additional charge. This was very frustrating because nowhere during the booking process was it mentioned that there are separate room types with and without AC. This should have been clearly disclosed upfront or offered as an option when reserving. It felt like they were waiting until guests arrived to upsell, which comes across as unprofessional and misleading. I asked for the upgrade anyway since it was hot to stay in the original room. I was told the cost would be $15 plus tax (around $17 total), which I agreed to. However, I was later charged over $37, which was unexpected and not explained. To make matters worse, the AC in the upgraded room didn’t even work properly—it was blowing air like a fan, but not cooling at all. Since it was already late at night, we had no choice but to open the windows and use a fan just to get through the night. The next morning, I reported the issue to the front desk and asked them to check the AC. Unfortunately, they showed little concern—there was no apology, no attempt to resolve the issue, and no refund or correction of the overcharge. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience due to poor communication, unexpected charges, and lack of customer service"

"The good, the views at this property are simply spectacular!!! Especially at night with the sunset. Aside from that it appears that this property might be a timeshare scenario as the property management was very vague in terms of offering any sort of information with regards to housekeeping. You have to request a day prior according to one of the housekeeping staff members we asked why our room had not been cleaned. Another thing is the water tends to flow very slowly and at times totally goes out when flushing the toilet. The staff is somewhat more attentive towards other guests and that I refer to the timeshare clientele. Other than that the breakfast is good nothing fancy free and to the point. The property is a short 15 minute walk to the pier at pismo. And within driving distance to other attractions. "

"Weekday staff was incredible! We visited our daughter and she wanted to set up a little welcome basket for us, and the night staff the day we arrived helped her out so much! It was beyond lovely! We requested to stay an extra night due to the unseasonably warm weather. We inquired about the cost and we're ok with the price quoted. When we asked about the next morning the price had doubled!! But even after we mentioned the price quoted, we were told that the new price (double of the quoted price) would be the price for the extra evening. I have an MS and the heat makes me feel terrible. This was the one and only reason we requested an extra night. The temps were going to be cooler after the extra night. It just seemed to us that the weekday staff was so much more agreeable and friendly. Then on the night before we were to check out, we requested a late checkout and were told simply NO. In all my 52 years of life I have never been told no when a late checkout is requested. We enjoyed our stay in Morrow Bay immensely, however the last day of staying at this hotel was not at all pleasant "
