"If it’s your first time visiting Moreton Bay, staying at the Bali Shack can be a challenge. The Stayz listing could benefit from clearer directions on how to reach the property after disembarking from the barge, as the map provided wasn’t helpful. Thankfully, reading previous reviews helped us prepare. You’ll need access to a 4WD (or to hire one), bring it over on the barge, and expect a drive of around 40 minutes or more depending on sand conditions and driving experience. If it’s your first visit, don’t hesitate to ask locals for directions—they are very friendly and willing to help. For future guests, here are a few tips that may help:When you disembark, Bali Shack is on the left side of the island. Drive all the way to the end of the beach until you see the Bulwer wreck shown in the listing photos. Just before reaching the wreck, take the last right turn. Bali House is the second house on the left and Bali Shack is located at the back of it. Upon arrival, the entrance and interior could have been cleaner. We found the house quite dusty, which caused some sneezing, and we needed to wipe down some furniture. The kitchen items also needed washing before use. We were glad we had brought our own plates and cutlery. But the most alarming is that when you use the toilets, there are frogs inside the toilet bowl and a big lizard inside the house. The water is colour yellow but drinkable. Bring water. For kayaking and snorkelling at the wreack, book ahead at Sunset Safari. "
