A comfortable escape
The pictures don't do this place justice; it's cuter in person. It's clear the owners have put the effort into making this a nice getaway. We went to the area to look for fossils. The house is close to Stratford Hall and Westmoreland State Park is about 10 minutes away, but the neighborhood's private beach is an 8 minute walk and full of all the same fossils. Very convenient! The house was comfortable and quiet. The back yard has a nice fire pit setup with chairs and benches, with enough trees around you to make it feel a bit secluded. We had half a dozen deer meandering through the yard one afternoon. We had a minor issue with the Internet and the hosts were quick to respond and get it sorted out. I always like to know what the kitchen of rental places has, so for anyone curious: the kitchen is stocked sufficiently for casual cooking for a family of 4-6. Any more than that and you might need to do dishes mid-day. There is a toaster and coffee maker provided. For entertainment, each bedroom and the living room has a smart TV. There are some board games and puzzles and a good selection of DVDs, too. We would definitely come back here again. It was a nice place to spend a few days away from home.
