Very nice hotel in a great location. It was a short walk from the train station and the hotel is in the middle of a main shopping area with tons of restaurants all around. The room was nice and the beds were comfortable. My only complaints would be that the door to the toilet didn’t stay shut all the way, and the wifi was flaky at times. The breakfast was good, and the complimentary water bottles in the room were greatly appreciated

Excellent hotel, lovely decoration, amazing location in a beautiful city. My only issue is that we had to turn off the AC because it was too powerful and cold, but that's a minor detail.

Gorgeous 19th century hotel with a modern update. Beautiful spacious rooms, fantastic breakfast, best possible location (centre ville, tramway, 5 min to train), amazingly thoughtful and helpful staff. Our stay here was the high point of our wonderful trip to Montpellier. 10/10, thank you Grand Hotel du Midi!

Hotel is great location to everything you want to see. The smaller bed off the main room is fine, but if you close the door to main bed, you will not have a/c in the small room. parking was not close to the hotel. everything else was great.

Beautiful, historic hotel in tbe center of the city. Our room was attractive and spacious with excellent AC. It’s Two minutes from many public transport options and shopping and restaurants galore. It would be even better with a gym. It’s a little inconvenient that cars cannot drive up in front, but taxis can. There is a parking garage entrance at the end of the block and reduced parking rate for 19 euros/night. Highly recommend.

We drive all day to check in, one man was working front desk told us that elevator is not working. Elderly women stopped. We were thirsty, ask for water he told us sit wait. I ask give us key to room he refused to give us key. It was 7 pm when we arrived. Finally we got the key walk the stairs to room and carrying our luggage to stairs and the key isn’t working. My husband walk downstairs to ask he came upstairs check and stay here I will bring new keys for you. Thirsty and tired we wake up early in the morning left Hôtel early didn’t want to stay there. The first time bad experience about the hotel.

Ideal location, tricky to drive

Hotel was clean and comfortable for our two night stay in Montpellier. It was ideally located for getting around town. The only issue we had (not the hotels fault) was due to the tram line and city centre renovations all the roads are mainly one way. This meant we couldn’t reach the hotel with our car to get the ticket for parking, eventually I drove in circles (as no on street parking) whilst my partner went to the hotel lobby. Once we had the ticket we ended up spending another hour trying to access the car park due to the one way streets and the traffic. In the future it would be handy to know you can park first and bring the ticket to the hotel lobby to then sort out the discounted rate.

Character, comfort, and central location.

Grand Hotel du Midi was a central location ideal for our short visit to Montpellier. The room for 4 did the job nicely - the sofa bed was already open and prepared for us, and they were comfortable. I liked that the balcony doors could be opened (which faced the historic Credit Lyonnais building), and when you closed those doors - soundproof! Very good because the Comedie square is busy and noisy. The hotel instructions for parking that get sent to you automatically are critical to follow - it took a bit of care, but we figured it out. We didn't take the tunnel as indicated, but just took the stairs up to Comedie square - bring your ticket for the discount (17 Euro) and present to th front desk. The hotel itself has a classic character, with ornate staircases, stained-glass windows, and decor. Everything we wanted was within walking distance. I liked that water was provided and a nespresso.

Most of the desk staff were polite and helpful. Except for one he was unpolite and rude from check in to the tone he spoke to explain basic information. I speak perfectly french so I don't believe the whole American behavior applies here. The entry door by the coffee shop smells urine during our whole stay and that's terrible. The main door is usually not working and you need to enter by the coffee shop. We stayed 7 nights and the location is perfect. Cleaning ladies were very polite and room was perfectly clean. I'd love to come again to Montpellier but I won't stay again in this hotel.

Dejligt, centralt og bilfrit

Virkelig dejligt og meget centralt beliggende hotel. Man kan ikke køre i bil til hotellet, da bymidten er bilfri - ikke et problem, man skal bare være klar over det. Vi nød vores opholdsgrundlag kommer helt sikkert igen.
