The lodge and surrounding property are beautiful, and the large gathering spaces worked well for our group of 30. Unfortunately, several significant issues affected our stay. The address provided through VRBO was incorrect, and the lodge was listed under a different name. With no cell service in the canyon, our group spent over an hour trying to find the property. One of the main reasons we booked this lodge was the 12 bathrooms with showers. Friday morning, we had no hot water. A technician came within a couple of hours and thought it was fixed, but when we returned that afternoon, there was still no hot water. It took another four hours and a second technician to restore it, leaving our group unable to shower after a full day outdoors. The dishwasher also couldn't properly sanitize dishes. Because VRBO advertises this as a luxury rental, we assumed it had air conditioning. It did not. Fans helped somewhat, but several bedrooms became very hot at night. Some back bedrooms couldn't open their windows because they had no screens, and the loft bunkroom has no window at all. We also tripped a breaker using only two electric skillets, but the breaker panel was locked. Finally, the garbage can was already full when we arrived, leaving nowhere to store our trash after it was hauled away. While the property is beautiful, these issues significantly impacted our stay.
