Destination half marathon house near Corning NY
This was a great house for 12 adults to share. The kitchen was spacious and the dining areas accommodated our group. We enjoyed the town and it was an easy drive to the bus pickup location for the half marathon. A good time was had by all!!

Finger Lakes Mansion
Cook Mansion was just perfect for our large group of 11. Beautiful old house with large bedrooms and every couple had their own attached bathroom. Huge fully stocked kitchen, two dining rooms and nice parlor were all great places to gather. Hosts were very attentive to our needs. Highly recommend the hike along the falls in nearby Watkins Glen State Park.

We had a wonderful time! Check in was smooth and all the basics were provided. The mansion is not overly decorated so it was great with young ones. Plenty of room for us to spread out and to come together in the evenings. AND I could see the waterfall out of my bedroom window!

Enjoyed our stay!
We had a family group that ranged from 75 to 33 who were in town to hike Watkins Glen. Everyone liked the property. The waterfall in the backyard was everyone’s favorite feature. Our rooms were incredibly clean and the bathrooms were spotless. The kitchen was well-stocked and very clean as well. There were plentiful extra towels and supplies. The bedrooms upstairs had their own air conditioning units so everyone could choose their ideal temperature. The neighborhood was very quiet. Since it is a historic house there are storm window protectors so the windows can’t be opened for ventilation. The stairway upstairs is daunting for anyone with bad knees or a poor sense of balance. There is a bedroom on the first floor so it wasn’t a problem for our group. There was a brochure for a walking tour of Montour Falls that showcased the other historic buildings. Walmart was 10 minutes away in Watkins Glen. Corning and Ithaca are also short drives so this property was ideal as a central base for day trips. Our host, Casey, was extremely responsive, even at 10pm on a Saturday night. We would rent this property again if we were in the area.

Perfect house for ladies weekend away!
There were 15 of us ladies that stayed at Cook Mansion for 3 nights. There was enough room both inside and out that we never felt crowded. Plenty of showers and bathrooms for everyone to get ready in the mornings. The house had more then ample supplies for our meals and the kitchen was excellent for cooking in. Property is right next to waterfall that was nice to listen to while having coffee or a glass of wine! It is also close to a local trail that we walked every morning and saw deer and foxes. Location of the house was perfect for us as it was easily accessible to Cayuga, Seneca, and Keuka lakes. I would gladly stay again!

Most Character on VRBO
The house is right out of a story. Rambling old mansion, but updated with every modern convenience and with clean, friendly, newly renovated decor. All bedrooms have en suite bathrooms. Plenty of exploration available both inside and out. The house itself has more character than any other vrbo we have stayed at. Plenty of corners to poke into, rooms to discover, doors to open, staircases to investigate. The backyard is literally the massive and beautiful Chequaga Falls. We feel asleep to the peaceful susserus of the falls each night. The town of Montour Falls is quaint, and made for a great afternoon of exploring, along with nearby Watkins Glen. The state park had great hikes. Wonderful three nights in a great property!
