"The room was quite outdated, with the flooring being the only feature that appeared recently updated. The sheets were clean, although we chose to use our own.
The property could benefit from some landscaping and general interior updates. The bathroom would be more functional with a few wall hooks for towels and clothing. The air conditioning unit was very old, dusty, and appeared overdue for maintenance.

"It's a great place to stay. Great location. The stuff was really nice. The water quality wasn't good. Make sure have enough bottle water for your stay."
"Meeting the owner in person to Acces keys was a challenge for us with timing and traffic. We felt bad for arriving later than planned. When we arrived we found the master bedroom sheets had hair and particles on them. Even though we arrived late at night the owner came right over to fix the issue and replaced the sheets. The view, patio and sand beach are amazing! Steep set of stairs to get down to beach totally not a problem for us but be mindful if someone has mobility restrictions. Additionally the ability to rent kayaks was very nice and convenient. If you are a beginner kayaker probably not the best. To enter the water you go down a ladder into the water where there is a small standing pad to load into the kayak. As a shorter person and high water levels I was not high enough above the kayak to get stability to load therefore had to get creative and hung off the ladder. The mornings were super quiet and peaceful, calm water not a lot of river traffic. Great for kayaking. Afternoon river turned into a party vibe, lots of music. There was a house down river that played music into the evening till about midnight but we did not mind the style was good and a variety. Having a fire on the sand beach was an excellent way to enjoy the sunset evening stars. There were a few spiders/bugs, we chopped it up to being an older cottage hard to seal to keep them out. Great dog friendly, our dog enjoyed the long weekend. She is trained to kayak with us and wears a life vest."
"Loved how close it was. Loved how friendly and prompt the staff was (we had difficulties with our door code). Didn’t love the smell in the room. Smelled like mildew. Didn’t like that our room was NOTHING like advertised. There was no BEDROOM. It was a studio. The parking was less than ideal for units 8/9/10/11 (angled and made it difficult for anyone leaving the property). Loved the kitchenette in the room. Didn’t like the broken bathroom window (wouldn’t open) and the lack of exhaust fan in the bathroom. Also- mold on the bathroom ceiling in multiple spots. Okay for one night, but will take my chances at another hotel/motel/cabin- accommodation next time. Also- didn’t use the pool- open 10-10. Checkout was simple. No staff at the office… I don’t think ever. Texting, phone calls, and the app are the communication preferences. Also super thin walls. We rented room 9 and family rented 10. You could hear through the walls! Room 11 wasn’t being OVERLY loud, but they could be heard in room 10. And I don’t know if animals are allowed, but someone absolutely had their dog there!!"

"GREAT LOCATION!! under 5 minute walk to main entrance at Indiana Beach Amusement Park. and the view from the back porch was AMAZING! The beds were very comfy... The host was so easy to communicate with. She answered all our questions within minutes.... Highly recommend this home. Would be great for a family with small children who want to go back and forth from the amusement park all day and night. The fireworks were beautiful from the back porch."

Lake Freeman house w/boat dock... Minutes from Indiana Beach/Lake Shafer
10/10 Excellent
"Nice house right on the river with beautiful views! We enjoyed staying here. The beds and couches were very comfortable and there’s plenty of space in all the rooms. My kids had fun fishing right off the dock, and my son actually saw a deer crossing the river. I also like that it’s close to restaurants, stores and Indiana Beach Amusement Park. We would definitely stay here again."
