Surrounded by lush evergreen trees in the front and side of property with seasonal trees and foliage in the backyard that provide plenty of privacy, this quaint property is the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and Twin Lakes tourism. Fish off the private dock, lounge by the lake or shove off at the nearby boat launch. Simply enjoy the overall scenery whichever time of the year you choose to visit. It will be a relaxing experience where you may enjoy the outdoors by the water, on the balcony or in the patio and garden areas.

Inside the home, you will find a cozy open layout allowing for easy flow between the living and dining/kitchen areas, which makes it perfect for spending time with loved ones. Or, you may opt for quiet time and retreat to the lower level den and/or its walk-out patio. The adjacent garden and the sound of wild birds will welcome you outside.

The house features multiple rooms, ideal for families or groups of friends. It contains all your basic necessities to start you off. Overall, it is an ideal get-away location that encourages relaxation yet it is close to a variety of local shopping and attractions for when you desire to be more active. Like golf? Amusement park? Winery?... each only 10 minutes away!

Great fishing spot! Very peaceful and relaxing.. not a lot of traffic coming through on the lake. We took kayaks out and had no problem. The trees surrounding porch gave nice shade and we really enjoyed our morning coffee on the porch.

Nice and neat place with plenty sleeping arrangements. Love the location, quiet and secluded! Love the backyard set up where we can just sit outside listening to wild birds singing!

Vacay at Lake Freeman

We enjoyed our stay at this property. There was plenty of room for our group. It was nice to have a boat dock for our pontoon. Any issues we had were resolved quickly by the property owners.

Great Home away from Home

This home was perfect for our family of 10! Enough beds, sheets, towels, sundries, and coffee supplies! Older home but well maintained and very clean. Owners responded quickly to all inquiries. We’ll definitely stay there again!

Once Again, a great place to stay!

This was our second time staying here. We go to the Hops & Coaster Drops event at Indiana Beach every year. This place never disappoints. Always clean and very roomy for a decent size group, easy check in process, peaceful, fantastic location, very close to grocery stores, restaurants, and the amusement park. Looking forward to booking again next year! Thank you again for sharing your home with us!

Lake House

We had eleven in our group, with plenty of room. The kids had a blast fishing and of course close to Indiana Beach. The amenities were exactly as they said. We all had a great time and will come back again! Forgot to mention how peaceful and beautiful it is by the lake.

We used this vrbo for parents weekend at purdue. It worked out great. The house is very clean and has plenty of room for 5 of us and a small dog. the drive between the campus and the house is nice easy driving. The house is walking distance to stores, but when you're fishing on the river, you feel like you're out in the countryyour

House with wooded lot,great deck and open spaces

This was the perfect house for 3 ladies to hang out and catch up. Huge deck that had constant shade. Roomy main areas of the house that were spotlessly clean. Very comfortable beds. Convenient to local restaurants and not far from 65. The river/lake area is just over the hill and within close view.The best part- dog friendly!! We would stay here again.

Living the life

What an incredible place to stay. This home offers everything. The lake was a hit for our kids. They spent a few days laying in the sun and floating in tubes. The deck was nice and cool with the mature trees surrounding the backyard. Our family loved every minute here. The house was clean and inviting. We can't wait to come back!!!

Excellent communication from owner

The location was perfect for our events that we attended and ended up being right down the road from everything we did. The older house was very well kept up and we would have enjoyed more time there but our trip got cut short for other reasons. The communication by the owners was quick and very responsive and they were flexible with our adjusted schedule. The walk down to the dock was fun and standing there watching the river flow by was very relaxing.

Very pleasant, quiet and clean. Only thing I have to say about the house is that the stairs were extremely steep to get down to the boat. My husband and I are in our 70s and there was no way we could use them.

Comfortable stay during Eclipse

Property was clean! We enjoyed being not too far away from Purdue and Indianapolis on our weekend trip to see the total eclipse with our friends. We were able to comfortably cook dinner every night. A few of our friends did wish the pillows were more supportive.

Monticello Visit

This is an ideal location for adults looking for a quiet getaway with a spectacular view, which peers down approximately 50' to the river which is accessible via steep cinder block stairs etched into the landscape. The well laid out cottage is very comfortable and close to restaurants and shopping. The cottage was also nicely appointed with cooking utensils and bathroom supplies. We had a great time! BIG 10 Football Getaway

Chose this property to take father to Purdue/Ohio State football game. Picked location based on it's riverside position and ability to sleep 4 adults comfortably plus ease of access to Purdue. Property was clean and had everything we needed for a weekend stay. It allowed us all to hang out comfortably in one location and was equal to or less than the cost of the hotels closer to the stadium. Binder of property info and directions was detailed and user friendly. Wished the stairs down to river were a bit more stable.

The one negative aspect of the property is the very dangerous 50+ stairs down to the dock. They are hard to navigate empty handed, it's about impossible to carry something. The boating was a huge disappointment, the river is narrow, shallow and mostly "no wake" zones. The house was clean,comfortable, well equipped and the host was very accommodating and answered all questions quickly. I recommend it if boating isn't your vacation priority.

Great location & clean home

We stay as a 10 person multi-family group frequently at VRBO properties. This home was very clean. The kitchen isn't well stocked if you want to cook for a group. The outdoor spaces are very pleasant to sit and the view is fantastic. As others mentioned, the walk down to the water is steep. The path has a sturdy rail & good lighting. There is no ladder on the dock to get in or out of the water. We found sitting on the pier to be a quiet & peaceful spot. The house is a solid value and we would stay again.

Weekend Tranquility

About 40 beautiful county driving minutes from Purdue. Wonderful weekend getaway, or in our case, family weekend at Purdue. Our son enjoyed staying with us and getting away from campus for a few days. Great location in Monticello right on Lake Freeman. Deck and patio combine for the perfect, tranquil setting under large, mature trees and natural landscape down to the dock. Morning coffee never felt so right. House is clean and quaint, with all your basic amenities, plus a nice TV, board games and kitchen essentials. Lots of natural light, plus rooms are all well equipped with ample, touch lamps. Grocery store only a few minutes away. Neighborhood is nice a quiet with everyone having fairly large lots. Eager to return. You’ll enjoy your stay here!
