My favorite spot during our trip to Jamaica

My boyfriend and I stayed at this bed and breakfast three separate times during our recent trip to Jamaica. We went all over the island but when we were in Montego Bay, we stayed at ' A Piece of Paradise'. The manager Carrington was so helpful and friendly. Anything you need help with, he was there all the time to provide the guest with whatever they needed. We became good friends. We will always recommend this place. It's clean, the backyard with the pool and the views of the beach. The hotel sits on a hill, so you see a beautiful view of the beach and so many palm trees. So many awesome and friendly folks stay there, we were able to make friends with the other guests and hang out during our staying in Montego. This spot is a god send and so is Carrington, the manager. I can't wait to visit again. It was our home base during our stay in Jamaica. We traveled all over, stayed in so many different hotels and resorts but our favorite palace was 'a piece of paradise'.

Exactly what I needed

The owner Gabriel was an AMAZING host. He picked up my friends and I even when I was no longer staying at his facility. I really enjoyed relaxing, drinking, and eating delicious food by the pool. Couldn’t have made it happen without him.

I didn't stay at the property. I checked in and wanted to know more about the area. The closest shopping area or restaurant was about two miles away. I didn't feel comfortable walking. The bathroom was on the other side of the building. which I would have to share with another tenant. I told the young man I would like to leave immediately. I had to pay the owner of the property for a ride to the down town area even though I paid for 4 days and asked for no refund. I went down town and found a nice place where I stayed for 7 days. There was no pool but the place I gave it a 4.5 star for cleanliness and comfort. The owner of the first place didn't want to talk with me he told his helper to inform me that he was tired. The picture on the site did not matched with what I saw when I went to the actual property. He also have dogs that roams the property and if they're roaming you cannot enter or leave the property without permission meaning the dogs would have to be tied up or put away else where before you can walk freely

My plane was delayed for one day. They couldn’t refund me or do anything about it. The area is dirty. They didn’t have even soap for shower. And when I asked, the guy said that they don’t provide soap. No hot shower and the service was really really bad. The guy there over charged me for transportation the first day, and would be smoking pat inside and outside the place. Very bad service and I was very disappointed with this location.

The rooms were small, musty. The bathroom door had a big hole in it. The was some one clothes and shoes. The person that was staying in the room left with a bag as i was shown the room. I have a video of the property. I will be filing a complaint to expedia abd requesting a refund. I was unable to stay at the property andbi had to go back to airport and spend the night. I had to walk down a steep hill to get a taxi to go vack to airport. Expedia should be ashamed to have this property on there site.

It’s up to you

The weather was great. The owner was great. But my overall experience at the property was not. The smoking left me with a raging sinus infection and the music and noise so early in the morning did not make me very happy. I needed the time to relax and catch up on some sleep and I wasn’t able to do that.

Got scammed by this property. We booked this place and when arrived a worker told us no rooms were available and that the hotel manager was supposedly away on the beach with guests. The reason for not being able to update the unavailability on the website was because they supposedly didn't have Wifi on the property for a few days. We were reassured by the worker that the hotel manager would cancel our booking (he was talking to him on the phone when we were waiting for our cab). We stayed at another place and then found out we were still charged the fee and called Expedia. Expedia didn't help at all with the situation saying that we should have called them right away when there wasn't space available. But we were told by the worker it would be handled and that we would be refunded. Moral of the story. Don't book at this place.

This property is off the beaten path- you aren't going to walk down to the hip strip from here, but some real local flavor is close by. The property is very quiet and relaxing and the management goes way above and beyond to meet your needs. Escape your typical hotel environment and give "A Piece of Paradise" a try. You won't be sorry.

This place is horrible! The property owner manager is very hard to reach I am presently locked in and cannot leave the property. Despite the fact that I spoke with him last night and I told him that I had to leave at 7 AM. It is now almost 8 AM and I cannot reach the manager. He asked me for a $50 US deposit for keys and I can’t find him to return his key or get my $50 back. This is absolutely the worst experience I’ve had in all my 20 years of traveling to Jamaica the worst do not rent this place.

I arrived at a Piece of Paradise later in the evening, not really knowing what to expect. I was greeted with a warm welcome from the host Gabriel and his lovey dogs. He was quick to show me my room and make me feel at home. The villa is only a 15 walk from the market along with a great view. Bring your ping pong skills because Gabriel puts up a mighty challenge! I will definitely stay there again when I'm in MO Bay.

Lorsque nous sommes arrivés, j'ai dû me rendre à la clinique. Le concierge de la place a été très accommodant. Nous avons aussi rencontré le propriétaire et il était vraiment sociable. Mon mari et moi, nous n'aimons pas les tout inclus et cet endroit, contrairement aux autres était très bien équipé pour cuisiner. Nous avons aimé notre nuit.

There are so many issues ...First there are 4 large dogs which roam the property freely and bark all night. The place is a hostel....not a resort ...not a hotel.....There are no tvs or bathrooms in bedrooms and no local phone service.The bedroom walls are thin. The beach is not within reasonable walking distance and the water is rough on that side of th island.Owner is on property and has along list of rules for you as he smokes all day and plays his music all night..Also expect to be moved from room to room. Do not use owner for transportation he will over charge you with smile. I paid a taxi( red plates) 500 jmd to go further into town after owner charged 5000 jmd for a 10 min ride..

The view, landscaping and quietness when the dogs weren't barking, was good, didn't like the distance from the bedroom to get to the bathroom, and the sharing of living room, kitchen and bathroom with the other guest, also only 1 tv and it was in the livingroom. There are guard dogs on the property, which limits you from moving freely on the property.

We had to attend at Funeral in Jamaica at very short notice. We knew the area we wanted to be in and book A Piece of Paradise for a 7 night stay. We could not be more pleased to the level of service we received from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. If you want a pleasant relaxed spot to stay at in Montego Bay, you cannot go wrong with A Piece of Paradise. The Hotel manager is a star.

Experience Paradise

While in Mobay my experience at "a Piece of Paradise," was exquisite. The lush scenery in the Ironshore district along with the elegant layout of the property was fascinating. I could not have ask for better hospitality as my hotel host was more than efficient. If you're looking for a beautiful time and relaxing getaway a Piece of Paradise is your go to sanctuary.
