Once in Montalcino, turn around a roundabout depicting the God of Bacchus and head for Castelnuovo dell'Abate.
We arrive at Borghetto, a small medieval hamlet that has its features intact: tiny cobbled streets like once, the bishop's palace, the Romanesque church, the small square.
A thousand meters from the village, in the valley of the river Star of the imposing Abbey of Sant'Antimo, one of the masterpieces of Romanesque excellence in Tuscany.
We are in the central area to visit the Natural Park of Valdorcia with its spas, breathtaking landscapes and good Tuscan cuisine!
To satisfy your requests, the Borghetto guesthouse offers you the "ALICE HOUSE" just restored with eco-friendly materials and heated with clean energy.

House of Alice was nothing short of magical! The village was surreal. The host was communicative, the home was clean and welcoming. My only feedback would be to re-arrange the main floor to have more soft seating - but I would certainly stay again and recommend!

Italy Get Away

We had a marvelous stay at this property. Highly recommended for quaint, location, views, originality. We were able to visit many places during our stay. Francesco was amazing to great us when we arrived a few minutes later than expected! He made sure to give us many options to do during our stay. We enjoyed the Brunello wines in this area as well as a short ride to the coast and Siena which we took the Chianti Road…spectacular! Would definitely recommend and return.

Heaven on Earth!

The house of Alice was stunningly located close to Montalcino! The sunrise from one of the bedrooms will wake you up in the morning (in the most beautiful way). This is your Tuscan dream made into reality: location, views & the charming town!

Exploring Tuscany

House of Alice is a lovely apartment with spectacular views from the bedroom window. We thoroughly enjoyed the charming village and the friendly people who live there. Our driving time was 1-2 hours to visit the areas we wanted to explore.

The apartment was in a quaint older area in the middle of the beautiful rolling hills of Tuscany. It is off the beaten path with just a few restaurants, but we loved being in a quiet area. The views were amazing! We had a bit of a time locating the apartment, but the staff was available and super helpful.

First Trip to Italy

Quaint apartment, with enough amenities for a great six day stay! The parking is a little tough, but the location and views are fabulous. The pellet stove needs to have directions for the renter when it is cooler weather. I would definitely say again. Francesco was great and helped me with a lot of questions!:)

Amazing Stay and Comfortable Beds with a view

The hilltop apartment was magnificent. It has been beautifully remodeled, clean, uniquely decorated and comfortable beds. The master bedroom has a window that opens up to a 180 degree view of Tuscany, while lying in bed that's what you wake up to! Francesco was a fantastic host. The property has a few more units that, I'm sure, just as beautiful

We spent 13 days in the House of Alice. The pictures were completely accurate as shown on VRBO and our hosts were great. Very attentive and helpful with questions and requests. The stay was very comfortable for both couples. The location was perfect for day trips around Tuscany. We would highly recommend The House of Alice. Thank you again, to our wonderful hosts!

A beautiful apartment, ideally situated allowing you to explore the various sites in the Tuscany region. Breathtaking vistas as you drive between towns and attractions. The apartment is attractively designed and furnished. If I had one suggestion, it would be to better equip the kitchen so it is a little easier to prepare your own meals.

Lovely Tuscany apartment!

This apartment is a gem. Lovely, cozy, and well-appointed. Beautiful view of the Tuscan countryside from one of the bedrooms! Check-in was seamless and the owner was very responsive. Be aware that Castelnuovo dell’Abate is a small village with one small grocery store and restaurant; for more options you will need to drive to Montalcino (9 km away). This apartment was an excellent home base for exploring the area. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Tuscany

Pictures don't do it justice. Charming set in a small medieval town. Clean, comfortable and felt like I was in a castle bedroom. Francesco was extremely helpful in getting us settled and checked in. He also set up reservations for us for some wineries in the area. Only sugesstion is that you need your own car to get there and get around. Wonderful stay!

Wonderful Apartment

It was our first visit to Tuscany. The apartment has been professionally renovated. The hosts are very prompt to answer questions and made check-in very easy. It is a bit of an uphill hike from the parking space to the apartment. We suggest pulling up as close to the apartment as possible to unload, then, go park the car.

Great Spot!

Loved our stay at House of Alice. It’s very centrally located in Tuscany. Francesco was wonderful and took care of reservations and recommendations for us. The village itself is very small. The house was clean and well appointed. Small recommendations are; it could have used more efficient seating in the living room, a few more kitchen items, larger coffee maker etc. Also the bathrooms could use hooks and a shelf. Overall a wonderful and charming place! I would highly recommend!

Lovely stay

We really enjoyed our time in this lovely home. Beautiful views from the bedroom window, spacious and cosy. Unfortunately when we arrived the smoke from previous use of the wood fire was very strong almost to the point where we didn’t want to breathe, but soon got used to it. I guess that’s an expectation when the place offers a fire however don’t know why anyone would want to be using it in 35 degree heat Italian summer haha! The kitchen didn’t offer any salt, pepper or water which we found odd for a home stay. Otherwise the area was beautiful and the locals lovely and welcoming.
