Great place for a visit to Stellenbosch
Very nice property in a lovely town. We got a free upgrade and had a very comfortable room. The service was splendid and the receptionist extremely helpful. Breakfast was great. Bathroom amenities were a little tired but the rest of the experience outweighed this. Great place for a visit to Stellenbosch

Mediocre at best
A laundry view instead of a courtyard view is not what was promised. Housekeeping woke us up chatting in the laundry early one morning. After our complaint they "forgot" to clean our room the next day. Owner not present so the result is mediocrity all over.

We really enjoyed the stay, especially my son. The only improvement I recommend is the pool in the hotel, it's not clear enough.

Beautiful Hotel with a Bonus
We initially were only planning to make a quick stop in Montagu, but decided at the last moment to spend the night sincerely the town was so charming. The lobby staff was incredibly accommodating and gracious. The secure, gated parking was an added bonus! Plus, we were surprised that as guests of the Vic we had access to the hot springs just a short 3km drive up the road, which were a treat especially before heading out of town to explore more of South Africa. Highly recommended!

Centrally located period hotel
We were the only residents so had the place to ourselves which meant dedicated service but also meant it lacked a bit of ambiance and energy. Good that there was free access to the Avalon hot springs on the edge of town.

A stunning hotel, spotlessly clean, high quality furnishings, attention to detail and the most friendly and efficient service you can imagine. So pleased we decided to stay here and enjoy the hospitality of Ernest and his wonderful team. Thoroughly recommended.
