  • Experience Smith Mountain Lake in Cabin on the Cove, a gorgeous dog-friendly log home located on a five-acre wooded lot providing privacy, yet also convenient to restaurants, marinas, and shopping. This spacious and well-appointed home has plenty of room for a large family and offers a true lake atmosphere with wood beams and expansive windows for wonderful lake views.

    The main level offers a well-equipped kitchen, a great room, a primary suite with a private balcony, and two guest bedrooms that share a bath. The lower level provides another primary suite, a guest suite, a family room, a game area, and a wet bar. The loft area has extra sleeping space as well.

    The huge 2,200-square-foot dock gives you plenty of room to tie up your boats or personal watercraft, fish, sunbathe, or just enjoy the view. Swimming and floating is ideal in this wide water cove.

    Also, this home offers plenty of opportunities to keep everyone entertained with seven TVs, shuffleboard, foosball, air hockey, electronic darts, Xbox (bring your own games), and a canoe.

    For those who prefer a more laidback vacation, there is a hammock on the deck to enjoy the summer breeze, a covered porch for shade, and a lower patio for grilling (gas grill and flat-top gas grill available).

Great house for family vacation

We truly enjoyed our stay at the cabin. The home had great space with plenty of room! One of the best treats was the dock and being able to enjoy the outdoors with plenty of room for the whole family. We loved the location and the lake in general.

Relaxing in the mountains

Tranquil setting in the mountains of SW Virginia was exactly what this family needed to unwind from the daily grind. Pleasantly surprised with the amenities and the view of Smith Mountain Lake. Would definitely do again.

Great family house

This house was very comfortable for a mixed generation family gathering. The dock area was huge and perfect for swimming, jumping and launching kayaks. We even ate dinner there one night. The kitchen was well equipped. The plentiful outside furniture and covered porches provided perfect spots for reading and relaxing. The house is conveniently located too!

Amazing does not cover it. House was clean and just as pictured and described. The boat dock was amazing spent a lot of time on it hanging out with my family. The open concept upstairs was a huge plus and the game room and rec area downstairs was a hit. House had all the amenities you could need or want. Have already recommended to others already.

Loved the view! It was great. Only have four stars instead of five only, due to personal preference. Could have had another bathroom. Lights needs to be brighter. The floors ar dark, decor is dark, It’s just admIt’s very dark.

Amazing Family Trip

We enjoyed our stay at Cabin on the Cove! We traveled with family and kids and the place was perfect. Clean and beautiful well kept home. We loved the dock. It had plenty of furniture and was perfect for our large group. The kitchen had everything needed to prepare family meals. The rooms were all nice and well kept. The game room was awesome but we spent most of our time on the dock and in the water. Very quiet cove where kids could swim and enjoy the water. We spent time on our boat which we docked at the house with no problems. There were tons of games, puzzles, and movies!!! I can’t say enough positives about the home. We bought stuff to make s’mores but never made it to the pit. Great place to stay with family.

As advertised - this home/property was the prime reason for a great stay in Moneta, VA. The layout of the house was spacious, well appointed, and a perfect layout for relaxing with our family. The dock area was awesome—great for unwinding and really enjoying the lake/cove. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful lake getaway.

Fantastic Vacation Place

It’s a wonderful, cozy house. The lake access is easy to walk…not too many stairs and has rails. The lake is clean and the paddle boat and boards were fun to use.

We have been coming to SML for about 30 years now and we would rate this house in the top 5 of the houses we've rented. The house was very comfortable, the dock is great, the kitchen had everything we needed for our multiple families of 12 people. We had a great time in the game room, enjoying our annual ping pong tournament!We would stay here again.
