Individual properties managed by a local real estate company, the unit, W4, was very nice at first when we arrived. The following day we noticed the AC, set on 72° when we arrived, was not cooling when we returned after our activities of the day. We followed instructions for cooling upon check-in but to our chagrin over those first ~18hours the temperature had not cooled at all but climbed! It was now up to 80°. A call to the property manager yielded only a request that they remotely reset the unit and wait longer. 30 minutes later with no cool air coming from the vents, we made call #2. At 82° we requested further remediation and a HVAC repairman arrived shortly thereafter.
Checking the unit, he stated that the unit had been problematic several times in the past, was currently frozen and Moab Realty would be calling us right away to move us to a different unit.
I waited for the call nearly an hour before I called for a third time and was informed by Cory that he had "just gotten off the phone" with the service tech and I was asked to hold while he searched for another unit that would be equal to or even an upgrade. I had high hopes this could be resolved well.
Told to leave the unit "as is" we went to our 2nd unit only to find it was a neglected downgrade that was definitely 10+years older, furnished with second hand furniture, multiple cosmetic fixes needed, countless cobwebs and commodes that had not been flushed in weeks. Staying in VRBO properties regularly, I have an excellent rating as a guest. If I had not stayed at a beautiful apartment in downtown Moab just 3 weeks prior, my expectations might have been lower. That property owner checked in to see if we needed anything and that we enjoyed our stay. Not only am I disappointed for my family's inconvenience but hope this review will save others the same grief. I did request compensation for this debacle but 48 hours later there has been absolutely no response from Moab Realty, the property manager.
Last but not least, beware of cleaning and service fees, VRBO customers!! Why would a cleaning service be charged to me (no small sum) for me to PREPAY and then a preprinted envelope left plainly in view to tip the person cleaning????
These properties are obviously here as a cash cow for Moab Realty who 1. has no set standards for property owners AND 2. Moab Realty does not pay those cleaning a living wage.
