Jan’s Joy was definitely exactly that. It was a joy to stay in. There was plenty of room for our family and the kids, we loved that it was dog friendly, everything was clean and everything we needed was provided. There were plenty of towels, extra soap, laundry soap, dish soap, plenty of extra blankets and everything we needed in the kitchen to cook our meals. The pool is pretty close to the unit which we loved walking down in the evenings for a evening swim and there were showers at the pool too with soap provided. I will say there were some some very minor complaints. The grill is a bit difficult to use. One of the knobs is worn out so you couldn’t tell if the gas was on or not and the grill tray is a bit different so it just made it tough to use. But not impossible. We cooked on it for two of our nights and it was just fine. The pans provided need an upgrade. We were glad we brought our own because everything was burning and sticking to them. There’s no Tupperware containers to store food in so be prepared for that but there are plenty of stores around to pick some up. There were also no pool towels provided so if you plan on swimming, bring pool towels. The last thing I’ll say is that the mattresses in the bunk bed room aren’t very comfortable. They are also very creaky and loud. Imagine sleeping on a mattress filled with chip bags. The slightest shift sounds like chip bags crumbling. You’ll wake up everyone in the room in the morning when you try to sneak out.
