"We loved White Sands Resort. We were six people in two one-bedroom apartments with a connecting door, just perfect for us. The kitchens were convenient, however one was not stocked at all and the other just had a few plates and a couple of forks and spoons. "Nice if you like solitude and being in nature, and don't mind "rustic". Big open air villas surrounded by trees (even a few baobabs), which are frequent by monkeys (including red colobus). Not so nice if you are used to excellence and attention to detail in everything. Resort is in need of TLC at a minimum or renovation at a maximum to make it worth the price. All of the cushions are either worn out or torn with the cotton pocking out or zippers not closing... I would not recommend booking any...

"We absolutely loved Baraza. First and foremost, every single person working there (and there are so many as it’s well maintained) has a smile, a love of life and can’t help you enough. The resort, beach and spa are beautiful. I didn’t realize it included all meals which were beyond delicious, truly world class. There was local entertainment with dinner each night. There was an interesting class each dayWe had a different massage each day (pricing is treat). We went snorkeling nearby, great trip. Zanzibar is a very poor island, but the people are extremely happy and there is very low crime. Do stone town on the day you are leaving to avoid the round trip. We had personal guided tour of spice market which was great. Ask for Abbas. So glad we stayed at Baraza!"
