"Absolutely loved the old school feel of thing's from start to finish. As someone who travels a LOT for work and kids sports, this hotel has by far been my favorite. No overwhelmed and grumpy front desk people, quiet rooms (first time in years i didn't hear neighbors), working tvs comfortable beds, clean beddibg, nice spacious rooms, good breakfast (even with retro booth and tables 😍), and a clean pool (although we did miss the hot tub that was closed/unavailable- it was covered). I will definitely stay here again if/when we come back to Springfield. It was such a wonderful two night stay!"
"What a beautiful place to stay. We enjoyed the grounds and the ambiance of the main house. Our room was in the carriage house and it was cozy and nicely appointed with various musical instruments, reminiscent of the man for which this room was named.
We got up and dressed and walked across the back garden path to the main house for breakfast. It was a purely pleasurable experience. The chef prepared some amazing French toast with berries and walnuts and thick bacon slices. Plenty of coffee and orange juice rounded out our meal. The parlor where breakfast is served is an airy, bright room with views of leafy green trees from the windows.
We truly enjoyed our stay. It made a nice break from staying at a motel chain at an off-ramp from the highway. "
