Lovely hotel, I like it here, I've only stayed in summer.
Staying in colder months was horrendous.
The room itself was warm and great. The foyer was warm. It was leaving the hotel room .. the corridor was freezing, the breakfast dining area was freezing, you needed a coat to walk around inside ! I was advised to try and not sit in a drafty area by staff, there are no open windows or doors to cause a draft. There was no heating.
Breakfast was a nice selection, the poached, fried , scrambled eggs were barely warm. I didn't really enjoy it but I had to eat because of medication as I now had a cold. The veg sausages were mushy, there is nothing else protein wise if you don't eat pork.
I took a selection of bits to eat back in our room.
I think it would be nice to see trays and plates from room dining collected.
Can't fault the room or service, I don't expect to stay away and get a cold however.
