Maybe its a cultural difference but the staff was not what I'm used to. I can't say rude because they literally dont really speak to you coming and going. The 4 star rating is absolutely overrated. The room is described as 435 sq ft. I assume thats the suite, which isn't that much of a price difference but I assumed they were all that size. First and foremost both mattresses were severely stained. Also the most uncomfortable mattress I've ever been on and I've been to a few below average hotels. When we entered the room it was very stuffy and hot. We called the front desk they said they don't use the ac during this season only the heat. Our last night it was terribly freezing and the heat didn't work either. My wife is very big on TV and there wasn't channel she could watch and the TV was so outdated that you couldn't even use a streaming service. The only good thing is that the hotel was on top of a mall. Which was very convenient. I can honestly say this is one of the worst hotels I've been to. Me and the wife decided to venture out into other parts of Italy and just stayed at other hotels overnight for some of our trip. For me personally this hotel put me in a bad mood. Kind of made me look at Italy as a not so desirable place being that it was our first impression. Outside of this hotel Italy is great. My recommendation is to absolutely pass on this hotel. We stayed at other hotels that were less but so much better. This hotel compares to a Motel 6 at best.

The only reason to stay in this hotel is proximity to the Monza F1 circuit. Other than that, it is a very underwhelming experience. Service at front desk and during breakfast time was not friendly. Restaurant at property only opens for dinner. Room was very outdated and not clean at all (hair in the bathroom floor and shower). The configuration of the hotel is very strange, it sits at the top of a multi-level mall. We were thankful to have a mall nearby though, given that there was no restaurant open before dinner time.

Bathroom was dirty, mess in the closet. Not enough towels or hand towels in the bathroom. Property is dated and and walls need paint at the entrance of the elevator in the side I was staying at. Over all for what they charge I wouldn’t come back. Not with that price.

Die Bewertung ist natürlich vor dem Hintergrund getroffen, dass es sich lt. Einstufung um ein 4**** Hotel handelt. - Steckdosen auf den Zimmern teilweise defekt - Safe funktioniert nicht - Einrichtung grundsätzlich in die Jahre gekommen - Getränke zum Frühstück auf Pappbechern - Frühstücksangebot entspricht bei Weitem nicht dem was man von 4**** erwarten kann - Fernseher funktionierte nicht richtig. Fernbedienung defekt Es gab aber auch positive Punkte: - genügend kostenfreie Parkplätze vorhanden - sehr ruhig gelegen über einem Einkaufszentrum - freundliches Personal Zusammenfassend kann man sagen, das Hotel hat schon bessere Zeiten gesehen, wo es den Namen "Grand Hotel" sicher auch verdient hat. Jetzt hat das Hotel bestenfalls 3*** Niveau.

I never put reviews but I had to for this hotel. This hotel looks amazing when you pull up and walk in but absolutely terrible when you get into your room. There was a broken ceiling light that didn’t work, 3 lamps and only 1 was working we literally had 1 lamp lighting up the whole room it was dark. The fridge doesn’t work. Multiple outlets didn’t work. The bathroom toilet seat was broken, the shower is so poorly design that after a shower expect a big water pool on the floor. If you want to get water they charge you €2.50 for a warm water bottle because the fridge doesn’t work. I only came here for the formula 1 race and was barely in the room thankfully! Stay away this place is terrible.

Ho avuto il piacere di soggiornare al Gran Hotel Duca di Mantova e posso dire con entusiasmo che è stata un’esperienza davvero eccellente. La posizione è ideale, nel cuore della città, perfetta per esplorare le bellezze di Mantova a piedi. Le camere sono molto confortevoli, pulite e arredate con gusto, un perfetto mix tra il fascino storico e i comfort moderni. Il personale è estremamente cortese e disponibile, sempre pronto a soddisfare ogni esigenza con un sorriso. La colazione è varia e di qualità, un ottimo modo per iniziare la giornata. Inoltre, l’atmosfera dell’hotel è elegante ma accogliente, ideale sia per viaggi di lavoro che per una vacanza rilassante. Kamers waren oud, spinnenwebben zaten overal en de vloeren waren op z’n zachts gezegd niet echt schoon. Het ontbijt was heel summier en als je om 8 uur ging ontbijten was er helemaal niets meer behalve een enkele chocolade croissant en 1 slecht werkende koffie automaat. Hordes Chinezen die als mieren zich door het hotel bewogen. Ik zou hier zeker geen 2e een kamer boeken.

Very old hotel that definitely needs to be overhauled. No hot water on first day, no clean breakfast room on second due to a big tourist group eating before and not enough staff helping to clean up and rearrange the buffet. Next time in Milan I will choose a different hotel.
