Lambrate is a area in the north-east of Milan, known for its rich industrial history and vibrant cultural scene. The name Lambrate comes from the Lambro River that runs through the area.

    History and Development

Originally a Roman vicus, Lambrate served as a river port for Mediolanum (ancient Milan). Over the centuries, it has undergone several transformations, becoming an important industrial centre in the 20th century. The famous Lambretta motorcycle takes its name from this area, having been produced here by Innocenti.

Church of San Martino in Lambrate: The parish church of the area, with origins dating back to the 12th century, was rebuilt in neo-Romanesque style between 1914 and 1928.

Parco della Lambretta: Also known as Parco Maserati, it is a green area created from the former Innocenti Maserati industrial complex, which offers spaces for recreational and cultural activities.

Cimiano: Area that hosts the headquarters of the Rizzoli publishing group and offers green spaces such as the Parco della Martesana, crossed by the homonymous canal.

Property was very clean and comfortable. Mattress was excellent. The location was very good for our itinerary. The host was very responsive with 2 issues we had; a TV issue (didn't really need it) and a door deadbolt issue. I was unfamiliar with this lock style. After engaging the deadbolt from the outside you need to turn the door (not lock) handle in order to remove the key. We would not hesitate to stay here again when in Milan.
