This hotel generally is OK, but really old fashion. They still use a key hooked with a huge knock, so you probably won't carry around while you're out. Most hotels nowadays are using the card key. Just wonder. The breakfast is so so not too many choice. Staff service is alright, no surprise. The location is pretty good, 5 minutes work to Metro either M2 or M3, so easy to get the major attraction. There is not many restaurant & activity around the hotel. It's OK to stay.

I don't think this property warrants a 4-star. It is old and while it's clean and well kept, the amenities & the processes in place is OLD. They have the old school big brass key, which isn't bad - but it is inconvenient at times since you have to leave it every time you leave the hotel and pick it up when you return. If there is a line in the reception desk, well, you'd have to wait to be able to go back to your room. What really irked me and put a damper on my stay was the poor communication process among reception agents. I stayed for 3 nights at the Doria, the last night extended through one of the reception agents. The rate he gave me (as per approval of the GM that day) was not the rate that posted on my account. I explained this to 2 different people at the reception when I tried to settle my bill. Unfortunately, there was no notation on my account or a pass on of info from shift to shift. I left the hotel having to pay the incorrect rate and was told to send an email about this issue. I find this poor customer service. Why ME? Why am I the one running after to get this issue resolved? Shouldn't it be the agent's job to get this issue resolved for ME, the guest?? Suffice it to say, I sent the email as soon as I got back to NY and 3 days in, I have yet to hear from the people at Doria.

It was a pleasant stay here. The food was really fulfilling. I would recommend it to anyone who’s going to stay in Milan.
