"Our hotel stay didn't actually happen because despite several emails sent by myself confirming the time and dates of my stay when we arrived at the hotel at 2am the whole place was closed for guests - I was not made aware of the fact that I would need a code to enter the building. I have copies of the emails telling them of the date and time of arrival but between the Hotel and Expedia they chose to ignore our arrival. I'm 67 and my husband is 72 with mobility issues and we were stranded in Sibiu until we checked into another hotel at 3.40am - very poor customer service all round - will NEVER book with Expedia ever again."

"The room was clean modern and very comfortable. The hosts were fabulous and very welcoming. Nothing was a trouble to them."

"The best thing about the hotel was breakfast, big variety of food and all tasty. Other than that there are things to improve, for example the cleanliness. There were easily visible places that weren’t cleaned for weeks as you could see the buildup of dust. Also there are no tea/coffee facilities in the room which I found very weird because this is not something luxurious, many hotels have it and it’s considered standard. I asked at the reception for a kettle and fortunately they had. The walls are thin as you can hear your neighbours."

Worth the mention: - Swimming pool is nice and warm (it was quiet at the night) - Hotel is not in close proximity to the town centre (20 mins walk) in which its fine when the weather is ok. The hotel is ranked 4 stars and it felt like it. Unlike many hotels in Romania were is clasaified as 4 stars yet it would feel below that. "

"The location of the Vila is spectacular. The surrounding hills sprinkled with well groomed vineyards are breathtaking. If one pays attention can observe Roe deer and red foxes running around. The rooms are tastefully furnished and clean. Unfortunately the term "Villa" is deceiving as the rooms have no connection to the living area or the kitchen. To access those areas you have to use outdoor stairs. The layout is closer to a motel with separate entrance to rooms. As for a winter destination it is challenging for those used to comfort. The heating is provided by a spectacular fireplace and ducted air to bedrooms. Once it burns for a couple of hours the temperature is great. A note of concern is the fact that smoke makes its way into the bedrooms. As the house is "off the grid" and provided with solar power it also requires once in a while the use of a gasoline powered generator that needs to be started manually vis a recoil starter. I am familiar with such deices if not the brief explanations would not be enough. The outdoor kitchen and entertaining area looks very promising but it is less appealing in the winter. I would say this is a place for more adventurous travelers willing to fens for themself in a remote are. In addition it appears that a disconnect exists between Hotels.com the the property regarding payment. My funds paid through Hotels.com on October 26 according to the host were not made available. With some level of investment the property would be great!"
