About this property

The Whispering Pines Chalet—a private woodland retreat in Penns Creek.

  • A Vision from Boyhood
The Whispering Pines Chalet didn’t begin with a blueprint in a corporate office. It began decades ago as a vision in the mind of a young boy.

For Daniel H. Martin, the dream was simple: to create a home that felt like it belonged to the woods. In 2008, that dream became a reality. Every beam was placed and every corner was crafted by hand. This chalet was originally built to be a personal sanctuary—a "dream home" designed for quiet reflection and family gathering.

    The Craftsmanship
When we say "hand-built," we mean it. We didn’t cut corners during construction because this was meant to be a legacy. From the 1,120 square feet of living space to the custom loft overlooking the pines, the chalet was built with a level of care and quality that you won't find in modern, mass-produced rentals.

    Why We Share It
For years, this property was our private escape. We eventually realized that the "refreshing and relaxing" atmosphere we enjoyed was something worth sharing. Our goal in opening the chalet to guests is to provide a space where you can truly unplug.

When you stay here, you aren't just renting a house. You are stepping into a boyhood dream realized—a secluded place designed for rest, refreshing conversation, and a deeper connection with the nature around you.

"I wanted to create something unique that would allow people to enjoy this remote location as much as I do. My hope is that when you leave Whispering Pines, you leave feeling refreshed and renewed."
