"Well equipped apartment on the top floor of a hotel, where the staff had differing views to the owner as to the facilities that were available as a non-guest. Lounge area was compact, shower was over the bath with restricted shower-head adjustment. Comfortable bed, we appreciated the air-con in the bedroom. Ideally located in the centre of Mondsee and within earshot of the Basilica’s bells! Good value for money when compared to the equivalent hotel room."

"I enjoyed the property, a language barrier when it comes to getting arrival instructions and confusion with address that was given and the actual name of the building, difficult getting answers from the host who apologized for being out of town when I needed just helpful information, maybe I was expecting too much??"

"Pretty much everything about this property was perfect. We wanted to stay somewhere outside of Salzburg for the Christmas markets, and to also see markets in some of the lake towns. We really loved it. It is a little far from Salzburg, though. It is a beautiful area of Austria and the cabin was the perfect size and comfort for our stay."

Hotel Sonnenhof

2/10 Terrible

"I booked 1 room in Hotel Sonnenhof on 16th February, via Hotels.com, for a stay commencing on 28th May. Hotel sent me a message on 27th May that I was not in Hotel Sonnenhof in Timelkam, but at an apartment in Lenzing, 4.5km further away. No pre-warning was given, no rationale for the change in location, no option to cancel or reduction in rate was offered. I was very upset when I received the message on 27th May (the day before I was due to stay at the hotel). It was really inconvenient to be in a different location from my friend, and required that I drive back and forth from Timelkam to Lenzing multiple times. As I was only informed the day before the stay was due to start, I had no option to cancel and rebook elsewhere as nothing else was available. In addition, the apartment was in a poor location, not of a good quality, and the kitchen crockery was incomplete. The hotel reception was very slow to respond to communication, and only available in the mornings. Do not stay here - very poor service."

"The apartment was situated in Mondsee, 20mins by car east of Salzburg. A secure underground car park is included, so ideal if renting a car.Lounge/dining area is comfortable, stereo, wifi, Smart TV (netflix access but you'll need a firestick or similar to get Amazon).Kitchenette is small for a family, but well equipped with hob, kettle, oven, dishwasher and fridge, (no microwave). 2 coffee machines for either tassimo pods or standard filter paper. Pans crockery/cutlery provided.Upstairs bedrooms beautifully clean, fresh linen and plenty of storage. Bedroom walls are very thin however and you can hear every sound from the lounge - you wouldn't be able to watch tv in the evening with younger kids asleep upstairs. View of lake and Mondsee village from small lounge window.Location in Hotel.was nice, no problems accessing anything. The hotel is next to St Michael's church, and yes the bells do ring 24hrs a day, but we actually quite liked it after a day or so. Earplugs seemed to be fine at night if it bothered you. Good cafe and restaurant options right outside the hotel. We particularly liked one of the restaurants down by the lake.Fantastic walks up on the hillside above the lake. Salzburg easily accessible via car along the A1 highway.Overall, a very peaceful and relaxing location, thanks to our host Silvia who did a great job providing travel and access instructions.Kitchen is "

"Ein schönes Hotel, bestehend aus mehreren, miteinander verbundenen Häusern. Im Erdgeschoss befindet sich eine Thermen-Welt, die durch einen Poolbereich auf dem Dach abgerundet wird. Das Hotel verfügt über eine recht große Tiefgarage. Unser Zimmer war sehr sauber, das Personal immer freundlich. Bei der Anreise stehen Gepäckwagen zur Selbstbedienung bereit. Hier hätte ich mehr Service erwartet. Auch die Mittagsbewirtung auf der Terrasse (am Samstag) war etwas holprig. Alles in allem trotzdem ein angenehmer und erholsamer Aufenthalt."
