We have a large family and it is hard to find a place big enough to accommodate us. This was absolutely perfect! The host had left plenty of everything for us to use. The house was clean and had even set up a Christmas tree. We all felt very welcome. You have a beautiful home.

Silence and solitude retreat

The property was great. We’re ready to reserve for 2026 when all of our family gathers again for Christmas. Wonderful hiking trails. Super family friendly. All ages loved it. Very clean and loved the huge living room. We had Four activities occurring at the same time in the living room.

Amazing deal and awesome place

There is nothing on VRBO that gives you this amount of space and bed/person capacity for this price. The location itself was excellent. we cooked a lot of meals and they had everything we needed. The hot tub was great, the TVs were great, plenty of parking, and they even had multiple wifi routers for bigger groups. would book again.

Great for large groups

We brought a group of friends from Germany for a motorcycle trip. We specifically chose this place over others because we could put two men per room without having to share a bed or one couple in a bed. It worked perfect for us and most every room had its own bathroom. The lodge is huge.

Family Christmas

There were 15 adults, one teenager and 3 children. No one had a house big enough for all of us under one roof. We lost our son last Dec and wanted to be together as family this Christmas. This was the perfect place. We especially loved the large living room and game room . We could spread out and have alone time if needed.Thank you.

55th anniversary on Thanksgiving

Absolutely loved the house. There was plenty of room for our large group of 20 people with teenagers to enjoy ourselves. The area is gorgeous. And each couple had their own room with a bathroom which really made it so convenient and private. This was such a wonderful place for our family reunion. The only drawback was the kitchen is a little small for 4 cooks, but The 2 refrigerators made up for that. We can't wait until we can rent the lodge again.

The perfect accessibility accomodation

We had 16 family reunion members, two in mobility devices stay at the lodge and it fitted our needs beautifully. Well-stocked. The game room was a hit for the cousins and having enough bathrooms for all of us not to be kept waiting was a real joy. We thoroughly enjoyed the area--zip lining, hiking, visiting crater lake, swimming in the Rogue and Illinois rivers, rafting, checking out the 8 dollar mountain's botanical wonders and serpentine rock was amazing throughout the area. Thanks so much for this amazing site for large families with special needs!!!!!!!

We really enjoyed our stay. The living spaces were well furnished and had enough seating for our group of 19. Each of the named bedrooms on the middle level had their own bathrooms and a door that locked like in a hotel. Because we were family, we didn’t see the need to keep our doors locked—at least until we realized that people could come and go through the ground level near the game room. We even had 2 women come in wanting a rest room. After that, we didn’t really feel very secure because there was no barrier to prevent people from coming upstairs. An unexpected surprise was that there was live music each night and we were able to enjoy it from our balcony.

It was absolutely amazing! We loved the lodge as well as Galice itself the live music was a blast! And loved the grounds. We saw deer behind the house. Loved that the kids could safely play our front and behind the lodge and plenty of space to host our employees and their families. Close to spots to play right on the rogue river! Overall adequate facility for large groups; ours experienced the following: The dishwasher was malfunctioning from day one. There was a substitute ice maker for the built in ice maker in the refrigerator which was a hassle to pour in water for the ice then put it in the freezer for storage and to obtain ice through the door. The facility experienced a water leak on night three which made bathing virtually impossible due to the lack of water pressure. We were not told until well into the search and repair of the leak. Bottled water was brought up by the establishment; no word was given as to whether the leak was ever repaired. No rental adjustment was ever offered/mentioned for the inconvenience. The worst complaint was concerning a male "frequent customer" of Galice Resorts who opened a door uninvited on his way to a short cut from the top floor to the driveway below. He was challenged and commented that he was friends of so and so and inferred that he had permanent permission to travel through the building; he was denied further entry, was invited to leave through the same door and went away cussing. Not impressed!

Great house - excellent location, uninvited guests.

Excellent house and location- it is also rented out as a lodge so we ended up having to put notes on the doors to let people know they could not use any of the services and also had to redirect folks wanting to check in to the other houses. They freely walked up the stairs inside and outside the house. There were no locks on the first floor door except for the exterior door.

Excellent for extended families

This property was perfect for our group! We had multiple families making a trip from Portland to Sacramento checking out the redwoods and the coast and we stayed here one night. It was like having our own private hotel, with a perfect combination of private bedrooms/bathrooms and shared open spaces to cook/eat and hang out. Highly recommend!
