"Stephanie was so wonderful and patient and knowledgeable! The property is absolutely gorgeous and exceeded my expectations. I’m so thankful places like this exist and are being preserved and cared for by people who are passionate about history and story telling. Stephanie also prepared the most delicious breakfast for us despite my gluten sensitivity. I was so appreciative! I can’t wait to stay again (and hope to arrive earlier this time ;) )."

"The staff was nice. The pool and hot tub are in need of routine maintenance. Doors/walls were pretty thin so it was hard to sleep with doors opening and closing."
Beautiful private Tainter Lake Retreat in Western WI. Sleeps 10
10/10 Excellent
"We had a great time! This was our 8th year renting a cabin and having the three families come together. The property was plenty big enough for us to spread out, the tweens to run around, and the adults to relax. Having the shed on site with additional water toys and floats was a huge plus. The owner was easy to work with and get ahold of if we needed anything."

"We had a wonderful stay! Joan was incredibly responsive and provided clear, thoughtful instructions that made everything easy from the start. We especially appreciated all the little details—drawers and switches were labeled, everything was well organized, and we truly felt pampered. The space was peaceful and serene, and the patio was absolutely amazing. You can tell a lot of care has gone into making guests feel comfortable and welcome. We would happily stay again!"
Cute, pet-friendly, house with hot tub overlooking the lake in Menomonie, WI.
10/10 Excellent
"Super unique cabin listing. Loved the proximity of the house/dock to the Tainter Lake channel, walkable to Jake’s Supper Club and The Pioneer Bar & Grill. Would stay again!"
"This is a unique 1 BR, 1 bath house. The roof of the living area is dome-shaped and constructed with geometric shapes. The windows are triangles. It was clean, comfortable, and in a quiet location. The kitchen was well equipped. It is an open design; there are no privacy doors between the living and bedroom areas. Many of the windows do not have coverings, and the coverings that are there are thin and don't really fit the triangular windows. There is one somewhat noisy window A/C unit in the bedroom area. There is no central A/C and no dishwasher. The management company has a list of 10 clean-up chores for guests to do before checking out or face additional charges. We enjoyed our stay, but some of the uniqueness here could be a surprise for those with more conventional expectations."
Spacious 7-bedroom house on the Lake, with AC, WiFi, in peaceful Menomonie WI
10/10 Excellent
"Our time at Menomonie was terrific. The house is extremely spacious and has fantastic views of the lake. The kids spent hours in the yard playing soccer, baseball, and volleyball. The downstairs provided more fun with the ping pong table and pool table. Everyone had their space and we had many options for entertainment. The walk down the long stairway is very safe and in great condition. It was nice to sit by a fire and enjoy a nice conversation with s’mores by the firepit. The grill room and porch was also a nice area to play some cards and have a few beverages. The fishermen in our group spent hours at our pier and on the boat. They had more success at the pier. It was a weird week for fishing with the high temps from previous weeks with the algae buildup, but the boat was still used and we did explore the lake a bit. Our group enjoyed a bit of everything at this house. There was plenty to do and the local golf club even blocked a few hours for ten of us to play a scramble with the kids. The town of Menomonie is very nice and people are very friendly. We had a great week celebrating our parents’ 50th anniversary and spending time together in a very nice home that accommodated everyone."
