Our family had a fantastic time at the Waterfront Retreat in the Coorong. It’s a beautiful place with waterfront views and Wendy was a lovely host. We highly recommend!
We had a very enjoyable stay in Meningie. The house and cleanliness was outstanding and communication with Wendy was a breeze. This was a peaceful and relaxing few days, nice and quiet, spectacular views and plenty of birdlife. The Coorong is a special place to visit.
Excellent accomodation. Super clean and hosting all amenities. Plenty of activities and information to keep everyone engaged. Appreciated the communication and turning on lights/heater since we were arriving later in the evening. Clearly experienced hosts.
We stayed 3 nights at this fantastic little getaway, on the Coorong, a beautiful house filled with everything you could possibly need and in the most perfect location, so quite and peaceful..
We would highly recommend staying here, hopefully we will return to enjoy another day..
The accommodation was amazing. Everything you would ever need. Beautiful view from front verandah. Great outdoor seating area out of the afternoon Coorong breeze. We are just dissapointed we only stayed 2 night's. It's going to be a week next time.
We stayed 2 nights at The Coorong Coastal Retreat and wished it was 2 weeks. Perfect house in every possible way. View was magic, gardens glorious and even though it was very stormy weather, the log fire and comfy sofa were welcoming after a day adventuring in the blustery weather.
Gem, the rear garden is well thought out and a wonderful place to walk/sit and enjoy nature and birds.
The accommodation is clean and modern, if there is a drawback, shower time is limited due to tank water, limited supply. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, very relaxing.
We absolutely loved this peaceful environment the many thoughtful additions that Wendy has thought of such as the endless supply of firewood, fine coffee, the Kayaks to the herb garden and more. We had a great time at the Waterfront retreat and would highly recommend a visit. Thanks, Heath
A much too short time on the waterfront. We found the property to be outstanding for the price, had absolutely everything we needed and more. The native garden and fresh herbs were an extra bonus. I enjoyed the office space to work from as well.
We stayed here for 5 nights. It was a lovely house with everything you could possibly need. The (help yourself) vegetable garden was a lovely surprise. The place was immaculate and the views and birdlife amazing. It was lovely to meet the owners who were a wealth of information about the area. Would definitely recommend to anyone. :)
Just a beautiful place to stay
Did not want to leave!!
Really clean, thoughtful design, first time ever, the pots and pans were clean enough to use!!! (I always bring my own, but they were not needed!!!) loved the garden, heaps of herbs, passion fruit, tomatoes ahhhh I could go on and on!! Just had the best time!! The kayaks were great, we laughed a lot!!
Ok I’m raving
We just loved it
Thankyou 👍❤️
This lovely property is in our top 10 places to stay.
1st impression - this is a place well planned for comfort and ( important to us) excellent visual planning.
We found the garden with herbs and vegetables a special plus.
Across the road - there was “The Coorong” in all its splendour..
The birds the frogs and the peace made this stay very special.
We hope there’s a “ next time” when we would stay longer.
Thank you Wendy and Dean it was great to meet you both.
Clean and beautifully presented, this lovely place has been thoughtfully created. Touches such as complimentary home grown seed packets, worm farm, vegetable garden, frog pond and decking with a beautiful view of the Coorong, are winners! Only downsides were the non light blocking blinds in bedrooms - good for early starts though; and the outside, persistent smell of rotting organic sea matter & mud! This can't be helped. It's just the environment. Does encourage indoor time, which is perfect if relaxing, reading books, watching DVDs or simply watching the pelicans is what you're after!
Loved staying here with my friends, place was spotless and had everything you could ask for! Great location with nice views :)

4 days at the coorong
Wonderful location for a quiet few days away in a well equipped house with a number of additional speciality surprises compliments of the owners. We kayaked across to the coorong dunes to see the national park up close. The weather was unkind however we visited a number of nearby locations including goolwa, Hindmarsh island and the vineyard centre of Langhorne creek taking advantage of crossing the Murray via ferries. We were also enjoyed to the mullet fish : a tasty local fish. Our hosts Wendy and dean were extremely helpful providing local knowledge as requested and we would certainly visit again.

Birdwatcher's Paradise
We spent 3 nights at Coorong Waterfront Retreat recently. Couldn't stop watching the amazing views, changing with wind, rain, and calm.
Flocks of pelicans, gulls, terns, cormorants, as well as honeyeaters and swallows in the garden.
We loved the rhythms of nature, with the birds coming and going depending on where the fish were, as well as the weather.
Not much entertainment needed, the Coorong provides it all.
The house has a very laid back ambience, and invites you to sit back and switch off.
Perfect retreat.

Relaxing Retreat
Awesome property with fantastic views. The property is well maintained and equipped to make the stay comfortable and convenient. The garden is lovely and has the added bonus of containing herbs and veg that guests can use. The kids loved the Coorong waterfront and enjoyed looking for crabs as well as checking for frogs in the garden pond. Us adults enjoyed the gorgeous view and complimentary sparkling, something for everyone..
