Had a friend join me from Atlanta
Loved the charm. Was unaware of stairs until receiving checkin instructions. Too late to change locations. My friend and I both have difficulty with stairs. No wash cloths or hand towels provided. No hand soap in bathroom. Loud barking dog in neighborhood. Barked constantly and I’m a dog lover. Overall a positive experience. Just wish I’d known about the stairs and to bring soap and washcloths.
The inside of the evergreen property was great and was probably one of the more stylish property's I've stayed at.
Contact with the host was impeccable. The outside of the building was so so but guess that's what you should expect with a 100 year old building.
I highly recomend this property
It was styled like the pictures but it was infested with cockroaches. Upon my arrival at 9pm 3 cockroaches were spotted alive throughout the house by 9:05pm. I didn’t stay there because it was very uncomfortable.
The unit photographs well and is fine, until you actually spend time in it. Cockroaches, missing or uncomfortable furniture, all windows except porch are painted shut, and the unit is the top floor of a house, thus you are victim to whoever rents below you and "victims" we were! One of the groups played loud music all afternoon and into the night, so I politely asked them to turn it down and they apologized and did. The next night, a different group turned into an official house party, with dozens of people and speaker system. The house was actually vibrating from the base level. I called the police at 12:30 and they got them to quiet down temporarily, but it escalated and spilled to the street so police returned at 3am. The next night, a new group came and the crowd was smaller, but it was still so loud that we couldn't sleep even with two fans and a sound machine going. At 3 am, I went to knock on their door, but I got a bad vibe from the group so I looked in their window first to make sure it was safe to knock and I saw a guy with an AR-15! I called the police and we began to pack even though we had two days left in our stay. Cooper started out friendly, but as the events got worse, he got nasty, accusing me of lying (even though I gave police report numbers), being anti-gun (I own a gun), and even being racist (I never made any mention of race). Basically, he tried to gaslight me. VRBO is trying to get him to reimburse us for the two nights we didn't stay...
