The gardens were beautiful & it was lovely walking around the block listening to the birds & unwinding. Upwey is a great town too! This Elena & Oleg were super friendly :)
We stayed here for a wedding in Sherbrooke. The rooms themselves are attached to the main residence however are private and closed off. The hosts are absolutely lovely and the surrounds very peaceful. Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful view in the Dandenongs
Lovely outlook . Would have been great if not having to plug the kettle and toaster into the socket in the bathroom.
Loved the surroundings, absolutely beautiful scenery of lush 5 acres to please the eye. Perfect little weekend getaway for two, close to everything worth seeing in the Dandenongs. Really nice food places less than 10 minutes away in Upwey. Room spotless and cosy, the owners nice people (and they supplied a great breakfast, thank you).
Would love to go back there at a later date.
I booked this venue for my parents who were attending a wedding near by. They called me when they got there to say how lovely it was and called me when they left to once again tell me how great it was. They were very happy with the accommodation and the owners, they even got to see a kookaburra!
This was a complete surprise to arrive in a beautiful part of the Dandenong ranges, the surrounds and gardens were breathtaking, the room was very clean and tidy with a deck out side looking at the beautiful gardens. The hosts were very accommodating and friendly
The host was very flexible, accommodated and understanding with our requirement and check-in time.
The property was very beautiful. Experience it in person and you'll know what I mean.
Mast gully is a fantastic place to stay in the Dandenong Ranges. Set amongst incredibly beautiful gardens which backs onto native forest on two sides, the beautifully decorated room is immaculate, spacious yet cosy and very comfortable. The large bedroom opens onto a deck with great views across the gully, and there is a great north facing area to sit and enjoy the view of the grounds from the rear of the house. The queen size bed was very comfortable and the pillows were great. The separate, private sitting/dining area is very well equipped with a small couch, dining table and chairs, a bar fridge and facilities for tea and coffee making, along with the makings for a continental breakfast. Lots of books and magazines, a stereo with CDs, and a small TV are all provided. A very large bathroom and separate toilet are also immaculate and the small touches such as liquid soap and bath crystals are lovely. All rooms are heated, and along with the electric blanket on the bed, you will not be feeling the cold. Guests are very welcome to explore the grounds and adjoining forest areas. Our host, Don, was friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Highly recommended.
We were totally taken in by the place and highly recommend it for folks heading that way. Jenny was our great host and the place was nicely decorated. It comes with an attached lounge and separate toilet and bathroom. The garden was beautiful. Best part of it all we show a real life white deer. First time we ever saw a white deer and managed to take a photo of it. Great place to stay.
Several reviewers have commented on the gardens, which are indeed a treasure, but so are the amazing birds that make this garden and bordering state park ... simply amazing. We stayed one night, wish we had the time to stay longer. We arrived early enough to explore the 5 acres of gardens and to hike aways back into the valley that borders (or is on) state park lands. The room was comfortable, well-equipped with anything one might need with a large separate washroom and shower area and a separate sitting area for reading and for breakfast in the morning. Balconies surround the home and one can sit and enjoy the gardens and the amazing birds that make this area home. The innkeepers were delightful individuals and we met their dog, Miley, who is friendly and contained in a different area (in case you are not fond of dogs). We dined in Belgrave, just down the road from Upney. We had one of the most peaceful stays that we had during our entire visit to Victoria at this treasure of B & B.
Upwey was a location given to us by a customer in our shop in Auckland. Mast Gully B&B came up on our internet search and looked good from the reviews. It certainly lived up to the reviews with lovely hosts, homely accommodation set in an idyllic country setting. Beautiful gardens add to the relaxing atmosphere. Will certainly be returning but next time will spend more than 3 days and enjoy the gardens more. The setting is calling out for a good book and a bottle of wine for the day. Thank you for creating such a beautiful environment.
The owners are so kind, and the room/bathroom and gardens are beautiful. I am a solo traveler, and so staying here after I week in hostels really felt like heaven. It was immaculate and I was the best I slept my whole trip. They pay attention to detail leaving all the things you need, including little salts for the bath! So cute! And I even saw a couple wallabies on my walk through the gardens.
Would definitely recommend staying here!
had an enjoyable relaxing B&B break.
Unfortunately due to distance travelled we were unable to check in until after dark.
Non the less was very much worth the experience. would happily do again. Thanks.
The B & B was lovely - separate rooms, great bed and more than enough food for breakfast. The surrounding 5 acres of garden was beautiful and quiet. Would reccommend it.
We loved our stay at Mast Gully. Lovely area and beautiful home. We had our own very large toilet/shower and a lounge area for breakfast. Great breakfast with cereals, toast, fruit, etc. The owners are wonderful, they were flexible with the check out time as we had a wedding to attend. Wish we could of stayed longer and will be back again.
