Keep Away; Unprofessional Egyptian Manager
I have arrived around 3:30 PM, presented my booking confirmation to the front dest, and they ask me to wait to talk to the manager. An Egyptian guy came, and said that during these special days they book a double room for SR 300 per night (may booking was SR250 for a quadrable room), and added the hotel.com website is hacked and these prices are completely wrong, and they do not have anything called a ‘quadrable’ room. Mr. Mustafa told me that he can squeeze four beds in any of the regular two-bed rooms and give it at a rate of SR 300.00 per night. Or give two double-bed rooms for SR 500.00. I have insisted on getting the booking that was confirmed by one of his employees (his name is mentioned in the booking). He requested his staff to squeeze two more portables (smaller than normal single beds) in one of the regular two-bed rooms. Squeezing these extra beds in a double bedroom left us with no room to move around, and it was completely unsafe. The TV was broken, the shower was also broken, and water was leaking in the bathroom. They have insisted on getting the total payment in cash and on advance, and the manager said he doesn’t want to pay 25% to hotels.com. He also refused to get the payment through a credit card, and I had to go out to look for an ATM to get him cash. I have stayed in many hotels all over the world, booked through hotel.com and other online booking sites, and I never experience such stay. It is better to stay away from such hotels.
