My wife and I stayed at the Castle for one night. When we checked in I had requested to have a bottle of wine sent to our room. The extremely nice young lady that checked me in asked if it was for a special occasion I had said yes we were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. Next thing I know we were treated like a royalty. My wife and I are still blown away at how above and beyond everyone went out of their way to truly make our stay the most magical and special stay. We can not thank everyone enough for how we were treated. Just simply blown away!!!’

A fantastic venue. Attended a wedding but will be returning for a long weekend to enjoy the castle and grounds as they are kept so beautifully as are the staff who cannot do enough for you. The food is amazing and the Guiness was too. THe rooms are well laid out and best of all quiet!

Cabra Castle was a fin and whimsical experience. Is it a luxury hotel as they claim? NO. I expect from a luxury hotel to have updated rooms, a quality coffee machine, well stocked bathroom, bathrobe and slippers and a turn down service. Unfortunately, they offered none of that. Should you stay at Cabra Castle? Absolutely! It was fun to walk through the various rooms and imagine how it was like to live there. The restaurant is ok… not phenomenal but decent enough.

Excellent stay
The hotel was excellent in every way, staff were exceptional, food was 5 star and the whole experience was 1st class. We spent new year here and stayed in the lodge. The room was spotless and very well equipped.

I cant say enough good things about the staff at this hotel. We stayed here in the spring and had to come back in the fall as we didnt feel liek we had enough time at the Castle. I cnat reccomend Cabra enough. We will be coming back here very time we visit Ireland.

I paid alot for a 2 single bed that was like a kids room which was for 2 adults. I had another room with king that had the whole castle experience and was cheaper. Be more specific with descriptions and request what type of experience the client is looking for

Wonderful property! Arrived early and we’re very pleased to have gotten the room. Food was great and staff very friendly! Property does need a gift shop! Missing additional revenue 😉

We stayed on night in Courtyard rooms and one night in Castle! We enjoyed both for different reasons. Would next time hope to get a castle room with window looking out to the gardens but have to say the castle room was quiet and bed very comfortable. The food was lovely we had restaurant dinner one night and bar food the following night. Would recommend crab starter on Restaurant’s menu, chicken wings and fish and chips on Derby Bar menu! Because we were moving rooms they actually had castle room for us to move to instead of having to wait until 3pm to check in again! All the staff are so nice and so attentive would highly recommend!

Seemed like Medieval Plumbing
Fantastic place to stay even if just for one night as we did on our way back to Dublin AP. We got a large comfortable Courtside Suite fitted with a large KING bed perfect for a shining knight and me lady. We enjoyed a tasty white table cloth window view dinner (reservations recommended). After dinner and cocktails, we retired to our room only to see a great fireworks show right from our room window celebrating the bride and groom, married that day. This is a huge place and holds weddings almost on the daily, yet you don't really see the group much. There is a nice 2 mile walk through the woods and around the castle grounds which used to be a golf course, now a long private drive up to the castle. All meals are white table cloth with 4-5 star food with a moderately priced full wine list and a nice included free breakfast served at your table overlooking the castle grounds. The same table provided us a wonderful sunset for dinner. The only issue was the toilet flushing was a hit and miss effort only working about 15% of the time. Seems like it just needed an adjustment. All and all not a big deal considering this place was built in 1699, is quite large, very historical with several drinking and dining venues, throughout and a very unique stay.

Interesting great location and of course a castle.
Interesting place to stay, I stayed outside in the lodges, people would need to know that there are narrow stairs leading up to the room, the stairs are very narrow and would require good mobility, not my problem. The room was interesting and very comfortable. but in a quaint way and very different from the commercial hotel a lovely change but may not be to everyone's style. Lovely outdoors and great to walk outside to breakfast. I enjoyed

Gorgeous castle, delicious dinner and breakfast
The castle is better than the photos! Do plan time to explore the main building and sit a while in any of the gorgeously furnished rooms to journal or read. You should also plan to have dinner at the property, as the five-course meal is not to be missed and very reasonably priced. We enjoyed the woodland walk in the morning after a fantastic breakfast. The rooms are clean, there is plenty of hot water for a bath or shower and there is ample space for bags, luggage, etc. If I had one critique it would be that the beds are not as comfortable as I was expecting. The mattresses were pretty old, but at least the beds were pretty!

Cabra castle is everything you would expect a castle to be! It is beautiful, the staff is excellent, the food os unbelievably good! This was my second trip, and should I return, I’ll stay again.

The property is beautiful and the staff was friendly. The room was clean but there was no place to put your luggage and no safe to secure your belongings. The breakfast was lovely. We stayed here 3 nights which was too long as there is not much to do in the area.

We stayed two nights after being there previously for a wedding. It was lovely. From the moment we arrived the staff couldn't have made us more welcome nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in the cottages a two minute stroll from the castle itself. A beautiful quite spot and the room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. We had breakfast and dinner both days, the food was wonderful. Couldn't speak highly enough.... a lovely place and hope to visit again in the future.

Food excellent, staff excellent, accommodation was very disappointing as we stayed in the lodge and got no sleep either night .Lodges contain 4 bedrooms so as people were coming from the late bar the noise in he corridors and banging main door was awful and as they guests were so drunk the shouting and banging was so loud. We mentioned this when checking out but were blanked and our complaint was totally ignored. I think this is a regular complaint as this is a very popular wedding venue
