About this property

Cherry Creek Cottage by BMG

  • Summary:

Escape the hustle and bustle of city life and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Meadows of Dan, Virginia. Our stylish and fun "cottage" takes glamping to a whole new level. The open-concept living and kitchen area make the most of the long, narrow floor plan and the small, but cute bathroom features a tub/shower. Stargaze far from city lights and relax in our thoughtfully appointed bedrooms, each with a comfortable queen bed and fresh, clean linens.

    The Space:

Our kitchen is well-stocked with cooking essentials and guests can enjoy grilling on the gas BBQ on the back porch. The large yard space provides plenty of room for outdoor activities and there is a fire ring, seating, and cafe lights on the gravel patio in the back.

While our cottage is a glamorous single wide mobile home, it has been given a lot of love and attention. It may have a few dents and dings on the exterior, mostly paneled walls, a narrow floor plan, and slightly lower ceilings, but the cozy and comfortable interior makes up for it. Guests have access to the entire home and are welcome to explore and enjoy the surrounding yard space.

Meadows of Dan is a quiet country town, with the Blue Ridge Parkway running through downtown and the world-renowned Primland Resort nearby. Wine lovers can visit the two wonderful nearby wineries, Chateau Morrisette and Villa Appalaccia. Nature enthusiasts will be delighted to discover multiple nearby waterfalls and hiking trails, including the historic Mabry Mill and the town of Floyd, home of Floyd Fest, and Stuart, known for its road biking opportunities, are just a short drive away. With so much to see, do, and explore in our beautiful mountains, our cottage is the perfect vacation destination.

    Guest Access:

You will have access to the entire home, as well as the large yard space surrounding the cottage. Guests are asked to refrain from entering the woods behind the property or the field to the right of the driveway that is part of an adjoining neighborhood.

    The Neighborhood:

Meadows of Dan is a quiet country town, yet still has the Blue Ridge Parkway running through downtown and is home to the world renowned Primland Resort. Two wonderful wineries, Chateau Morrisette and Villa Appalaccia, welcome visitors nearby. Historic Mabry Mill is just a few minutes drive up the parkway.

The charming downtown is just a few minutes away with Nancy's Candy Factory, Jane's Country Cafe, The Poor Farmer's Market, Primitive Coffee Shop, and a few other cute shops. A laundromat is attached to the Meadows of Dan Food Market if you need to do any wash during your stay.

The Blue Ridge Parkway runs through town and will take you to Mabry Mill just a few minutes up the road. The larger town of Floyd is a 30 minute drive north and has several restaurants and frequent live music including the famous Friday Night Jamboree at the Floyd Country Store. A 25 minute drive south leads you to the charming town of Stuart, VA with numerous restaurants, shops, and activities.

Despite a convenient location, there is very little light pollution making for amazing stargazing on clear nights. It's not unusual to see the Milky Way or shooting stars.
