Life on the main street

Mausanne is a wonderful small village with 22 restaurants, at least 3 bakeries, dozens of bars and a lively atmosphere. Our apartment was on the main street with a bakery in our backyard. It does have 2 flights of steep stairs with no railings. The windows are double paned, protecting from street noise. It's a cute apartment with huge kitchen and lots of space. Our only issue was there are no instructions on how to operate appliances and AC, also how to dispose the garbage, neither in French or English. Our friend who lives there is going to contact the owner and make these suggestions . The town is handy to many attractions and if one has a car one can easily explore many small towns as well as Arles and Avignon.
