"Really lovely stay. The room was spotless and exactly as we expected. Twin room with en suite shower and bath, situated above a tea room in Bonsall (approx. 5 minute drive from Matlock Bath). Decor was fresh and clean, bed warm and comfy and clothes storage more than adequate. Hospitality tray with hot drinks and biscuits and a selection of toiletries. The breakfast was outstanding. Amazing find and would highly recommend and definitely return."

"We have no complaints on our stay, we only wished that it would’ve been for longer. Our room was extremely comfortable, breakfast was the best!
We will be back to explore the area and will definitely try and stay here again"

"The room was extremely dusty with cobwebs also, my daughter was sneezing all night. I feel the room were only for in season as not been maintained. Staff were friendly and helpful. Very confusing where to go as we arrived evening and you had to drive down to room after checking in. Feel like this is accommodation just for families staying at theme park. Bar was closed also due to a school trip."
"When we arrived the cleaner was still there but we knew she would be because we were early. Once in the cottage seemed really small and low especially all the doorways and in the bedroom the lights hang down low I’m 6’4 and banged my head numerous times my wife is 5’4 and had no problem. A good suggestion in the bedroom would be to put flush ceiling lights in rather than hanging pendants. The car park is really tight and when we came out one morning someone had scraped my car as we were in the big car park just up the road, if you have got a really small car then parking is not a problem. Also after we had cooked breakfast we went to wash the dishes but there was no washing up liquid or no spare bin bags for the bins.the outdoor space is so small and overgrown and didn’t get any sun even on a really sunny day. Steve the host was great and responded really quickly if needed. Overall a nice cottage fit for a hobbit and in a great location "

We had a wonderful two night stay at Sheriff Lodge, we couldn’t fault it one bit. We stayed in The Dray which was a lovely bright, spacious and tastefully decorated room with a huge comfortable bed. The bathroom also was very spacious. It was a pleasure to meet Ziz, she was a very friendly and knowledgable host and cooked a tasty, plentiful breakfast. I particularly loved the homemade Granola which was delicious. The room where we had breakfast was beautiful and characterful. Parking was an added bonus. We parked up for our entire stay, as the Lodge was in a great location for some lovely walks. We would definitely love to stay again when next visiting Matlock.

"Ideal location in the heart of Matlock Bath.
Staff were attentive and couldn't do enough for us.
The hotel and our room were full of character with many period features.
Breakfast was substantial and delicious.
I would recommend this hotel."

"Our room was spacious but it was tired with the carpet and decor needing some updating, but believe this is work in progress throughout the hotel. The sofa bed was uncomfortable for our daughter.
Staff were welcoming and helpful.
Breakfast was fine, selection was good.
The outdoor pool is great, but for over 18’s so families beware. But it’s fantastic, a little chilly for me but great in a wetsuit. "
