Our family of four (kids age 11 and 8) had a glorious time exploring the island, finding the teepee, reading in the hammocks and many chairs set about in perfect spots, catching rock bass off the different docks, paddling the canoe over to check out the beaver lodge across the small bay, and exploring the larger Bay in the easy-to-run motorboat. We were there in early July so the water was cold—and the sauna helped warm us up before and after a leap off the diving board....

"The place is an older motel, so it's not fancy or modern, but it is clean and well kept. The staff were welcoming and helpful. The grounds look a little run down, but it's early spring so there aren't many things growing yet. The cost was very affordable. If you're on your way from Sudbury to Sault Ste. Marie and need a halfway place to stay, this fits the bill."
