The COVID-19 outbreak has changed the way we travel, but it hasn't done away with our appetite for exploring. Here are some tips on how to deal with the new challenges of travelling:

• Understand the restrictions and rules in both your origin and destination. You may not be able to travel depending on local circumstances, so remember to check before you book your flight.
• You must wear a face mask throughout your travel experience, including at security checkpoints. You should be prepared to lower your mask for ID purposes when asked by a TSA officer.
• Avoid handing your boarding pass (electronic or paper) directly to a TSA employee. Rather, position the pass on the scanner and then hold it up so the agent can inspect it.
• One container of liquid hand sanitizer is now allowed in your carry-on bag. It must be no larger than 12 oz (350 ml), and you'll need to take it out of your bag at the X-ray machine for scanning.
• To reduce handling during screening, put items such as your loose change and phone into your carry-on rather than into the bins.
• Separate any food you have for screening. Placing it in a clear plastic bag and into a bin reduces the need for a TSA officer to touch and inspect your belongings.
