The best area to stay in Masisea is the town centre, particularly around the Plaza de Armas.

This area is the heart of Masisea, offering the most convenience and access to local amenities. Hotels here are typically within walking distance of the main square, where you'll find the local church, municipal buildings, and small shops. The streets are generally calm, and it's easy to navigate on foot.

For travellers seeking a relaxing and authentic experience, staying near the Plaza de Armas is ideal. You'll be close to local eateries serving traditional Ucayali cuisine and can easily observe daily life in Masisea.

The best time to go to Masisea is during the dry season, which runs from May to October.

During these months, the weather is more predictable with less rainfall, making it ideal for exploring the region's natural beauty. The river levels are lower, which can make boat trips along the Ucayali River more comfortable and offer better wildlife viewing opportunities along the banks. This period is particularly good for those interested in outdoor activities like fishing, birdwatching, or visiting indigenous communities.

While the dry season is generally preferred, the wet season, from November to April, also has its advantages. The increased rainfall brings higher river levels, which allows for deeper exploration into smaller tributaries and flooded forests by boat. This can offer a unique perspective on the Amazon rainforest, uncovering areas that are less accessible during the dry season.
