"I was pleasantly surprised at how nice a place Zanzibar View Hotel was. One of the most beautiful and clean (very clean) boutique hotels I have stayed in. I found out that it was just recently opened, and that’s why no previous reviews. Every one of the hotel staff was very pleasant, from the manager all the way to housekeeping. The restaurant is very well designed and pleasantly decorated. It was clean and inviting, and the food was exceptional. Even though the menu was limited because they...
"Incredibly historic building with unique individually decorated rooms! Perfect location for walking around Stonetown. Delicious breakfast served on rooftop! Request Belle room if you don't want a lot of stairs. It has a huge balcony along the front of the building so it's fun to see tourists stop and take photos!"
"I stayed at Zanzibar Palace Hotel from June 8 to June 10 and had an amazing experience. The hotel is full of character, with beautiful Zanzibari decor and a peaceful atmosphere. The staff were incredibly warm and helpful, the breakfast was delicious, and the location was perfect—close to all the sights, yet quiet at night. A true gem in Stone Town. Highly recommended!"
"The property is really beautiful and has a lovely restaurant on the second floor with a great view of the ocean. My only complaint is that they didn't have a beer/wine selection, but that was minor."
"A wonderful eco resort! Cute bungalow's with compost toilets. We slept with all the windows and doors open to enjoy the ocean breeze. staff and food fantastic. Good snorkelling. Coconut crab night walk was fascinating. We climbed up the lighthouse and walked around the island on low tide - saw heaps of starfish and crabs! We also relaxed in the swinging day beds and read our books. 4 nights was a lovely amount of time if you can…but lots just came for 1 night."
"Excellent location, many shops and restaurants nearby. Very close to the beach.
We had a fantastic room with a lovely sea view.
Clean and inviting pool area.
Very good breakfast and helpful staff.

"Beautiful property and fun water park. Spacious rooms, nicely decorated and very clean. Friendly, professional staff with smiling faces. I caught a beautiful sunset at the pier!"
"The environment was very welcoming and everyday i saw how hard everyone on the staff worked in unison to provide me comfort and convenience. Elisha and Zebron i dealt with daily and they made sure everything was in order and that i enjoyed myself. The cooks serce some of the best food i have tasted it was so i tried food i have never tried. The property was secure and i had no worries of unfavorable events occuring. First place i have stayed wjere housekeeping comes in person at least 3 times a day to ensure the room is in order or to check if anything is needed. I didn’t just meet people that work at a lodge there, no i made friends and i will be visiting again. Asante sana to the entire staff and managers "

Even though the menu was limited because they just recently opened, the chef did an excellent job in presentation and taste. I have to mention the attention to detail by both waiters, Rashid (Chili) and Mwajuma who made my dining experience memorable. My favorite dinner selection was “mchemsho wa kuku” (boiled chiken), followed by the beef curry.
One item to note: the hotel is right by the beach, but it’s not a swimmable beach. They will hopefully fix it to enable ocean swimming in the future. They do, however, have a really nice swimming pool right next to the ocean.
My flight back to Kenya was departing at 11 pm. The hotel manager, Hassan was very accommodating, and allowed a late checkout that enabled me to stay until 9 pm (for a fee, of course).
I would definitely go back"
