"If you are looking for a true Riad accommodations' experience, getting a full immersion in real Moroccan Medina, in close proximity to some old palaces and mosques, then Palais Moulay Said & SPA should be satisfactory primarily because of its location. A few tips: (1) I would highly recommend the dinner, belly dance, and Moroccan music experience at the " Dar Es Salaam, " which is approximately 100 meters from Palais Moulay Said & SPA. They do serve beer and wine. BTW: you will not find out abut this place from the Palais Moulay front desk because they want to promote their own restaurant! (2) If you are driving to Palais Moulay Said, call them ahead of time and see if they can send someone to meet you at the Taxi Stand at the closest roundabout; which is only a five minute walk to Palais Moulay Said. They can then guide you to a recommended, secure, under ground parking lot, seven minutes walk from Palais Moulay Said. It is almost impossible to drive a car up to Palais Moulay Said, unless it is 5:00 AM in the morning! (3) If you care to drink wine or beer, bring your own to the hotel and consume very discretely in your own room. There only a handful of restaurants that serve alcohol and it is pricey. (4) Count your change when a merchant returns it. I was returned incorrect change on multiple occasions during our travels through Marrakech, Casablanca, and Tangier. (5) Do not let any local give you unsolicited guidance to any location if you are lost...."
