About this property

A new coastal home to relax & escape to, on the beautiful Yorke Peninsula in SA.

  • The Mooring - A new family friendly coastal retreat home located one street back from the quiet beach (100m to the beach) & calm squid filled waters of Marion Bay. The gateway (5 min drive) to Dhilba Guuranda-Innes National Park, where you will find emus, kangaroos, shipwrecks, dolphins & many beautiful beaches to explore, as well as the historic township of Inneston, lighthouses & Stenhouse Bay jetty.

    The Mooring is only a 500m walk to the Marion Bay Jetty, Tavern & General Store.

    This new 4 bedroom (7 beds, sleeping 10 people) costal retreat is a place you can enjoy relaxing in or using as a base to explore the bottom end of the Yorke Peninsula. With 2 living areas, 2 TVs (1 with Satellite TV) & 2 bathrooms. The beach end of the house is a spacious open plan living & dining area with a fully equipped kitchen. The second living area is strategically located at the opposite end of the home & is a sun filled retreat.

    There is a large undercover deck at the rear with a BBQ, cane lounges & festoon lighting. It’s the spot to sit & relax, drink your coffee whilst the sun rises & enjoy the sea views over to Kangaroo Island. Whilst the smaller front deck with tiered steps, is the perfect spot to view the setting sun & enjoying a nice cold drink.

    You can choose to either relax & take it easy or use the home as a base to get out & about, to surf, swim, walk the Yorke, fish or explore what other locations on the Yorke has to offer.

    Being in such a beautiful part of the world, comes with one small price – no mains water. The Mooring’s water (as with all properties in Marion Bay) is provided purely by what the rain tanks capture. We therefore ask that you are mindful of your water use whilst staying here.

    There is a fish cleaning facility outside, please dispose of the waste thoughtfully & do not store bait in the fridge or freezer.

    If you have forgotten to bring items or need to top up your supplies, the Marion Bay General Store will have the key essentials you will need.

    The Mooring is a wonderful choice for family, friends or even couples to escape to.

    Guests need to provide:
    • Beach towels.

    Pet free home & no smoking inside.

    Mobile phone coverage with Telstra and Optus (more limited) only.

The house was clean and tidy with everything you needed. The beds were comfy and it was close to the beach. It was great to have a tumble dryer.I loved the photos of what was in the cupboards. Handy for keeping everything where it belongs.

Great views of the ocean, walking distance to the jetty and cafe, entrance to Innes national park included, two bunk beds stop my two boys from arguing. Plus amazing hosts who helped us on many occasions really going above beyond!

Great place to stay

Communication from the hosts was on time and without me needing to make first contact. Everything we needed to know was in the information they sent, place was incredibly clean, and close to the beach for kids to go down there by themselves. We had a very easy and relaxing stay.

Everything about our stay was fantastic! Communication with our hosts was very prompt and helpful, the beach views from the balcony were beautiful, and everything was in close proximity. The property came exactly as described and had everything we needed. We would definitely recommend!

Amazing views of Marion Bay beach

Craig and Tamara were amazing hosts and easy to communicate with all throughout our stay. The rental is clean and has everything you need with amazing views. It’s well located, only a few meters to the steps that go onto the beach and not far from the general store and tavern. Highly recommend.

Three Couples on a Road Trip.

Property adequately met our needs. Spacious modern home with a large deck that had Bay Views.Well appointed for a short or long stay.Hosts advised that shopping was limited however the Tavern/Eatery was top class and the General Store provided plenty of self catering offerings. Large kitchen plus Washing Machine and Drier.Very attentive hosts.Highly recommend.

We had an absolutely stunning stay here! The property itself was spotless and beautifully maintained, with everything feeling fresh and welcoming. The views were gorgeous and made the whole trip feel so relaxing and special.The hosts went above and beyond with their instructions — even including photos inside each cabinet showing where everything belongs, which made tidying up at the end of our stay so easy. The house exceeded our expectations. It was really spacious and very clean. We had such a comfortable stay during winter when the weather outside was pretty terrible. We had everything we needed to cook and hang out. We also really loved the close proximity of the national park, which we explored every day we were there. It has some incredible walking trails.

Fantastic Stay

We had such a fabulous long weekend at Craig and Tamara’s Marion Bay home. A large house great for families or groups of friends. Fantastic location in the heart of Marion Bay. We would stay there again in a heartbeat!
