The Pond House: cozy home with a mountain view perfect for a Catskills getaway
- Enjoy a comfortable stay in this mountain home with a view from every room of several Catskill peaks. The hill-side property include 9 acres of complete privacy to explore and a beautiful spring ped pond. Our favorite features are the home's south-facing deck to enjoy morning coffee or sunsets, a massive wood-fire fireplace, and a hot tub that is cleaned and serviced for each stay.
Located in Margaretville with restaurants, cafes, and all the essentials just down the road, the location is also ideal for access to Catskill outdoor adventures. We are just 20 minutes from skiing (Belleayre and Plattekill) and many hiking trails, fishing, and paddlesports. We are under 3 hours from NYC, perfect for a weekend getaway.
With two queen bedrooms, two twin beds, and two full bathrooms, there is plenty of room to spread out. It’s a cozy space that stays warm and inviting, with a large stone fireplace, perfect for relaxing after a day out hiking or skiing, or just taking it easy inside. Whether you’re here for a quick getaway or a longer stay, the house has everything you need, including a fully stocked kitchen, to feel at home and unwind.

Beautiful house in the Catskills
The house had the best views - great Mountain views plus a pond. House was roomy and had everything we needed. Great hot tub and was close to several ski resorts. Lots of games and a pool table. Very easy check-in process and the hosts were extremely responsive and helpful with any requests.

Margaretville Oasis
This is a beautiful home that is spacious, comfortable, and well-appointed with everything you need for a Catskills getaway. Proximity to Margaretville/Arkville/Andes makes it a vacation destination to be sure. The view and surroundings are breathtaking from day to night. Hot tub and pool table are the perfect amenities. The lake was wonderful for swimming. Can't wait to return.

The view from the porch should be a picture on your wall. Being able to see it in person, with the sounds of nature around you, was the perfect setting for a weekend getaway. The house was nice, clean and comfortable, though we spent most of our times outdoors.

Wonderful retreat
House was very nice, just like the photos. Our whole family loved jumping in the pond and swimming! The hot tub worked perfectly and was enjoyed by all! Margretville was a small version of Woodstock with gift shops, art,thrift store and places to eat. House was a little far from popular hikes and attractions, about an hour drive. Other than that it was a perfect vacation.

This is the third time we’ve stayed here and each time it’s been just fantastic.The house is located in an oasis of peace.All you can hear is sound of birds and frogs.There is also private pond where we and our dog can cool off.Our dog loves this place.he can run around property,play,swim.
ITS ONE OF THE FEW PLACES WHERE DOGS ARE WELCOME AND WHERE THEY FEEL AT EASY.
House is very comfortable we found everything we needed.The owners are very friendly and helpful.

Lovely Property
We had a great stay. We enjoyed the hot tub & fire pit. Pearl, my daughter's English Cocker Spaniel, loved swimming in the pond. Having the locking gates on the deck were great & the dog loved going in & out of the house/ deck without a leash.
Margaretville itself was very small, but we had several meals at fabulous restaurants there.
We did a day trip to Woodstock. I would recommend that to others considering the property. It's about a 45 minute drive from Margaretville.

Beautiful place to stay
My family spent two August weeks staying at Neil's property. Just days beforehand, a huge storm hit the area, causing some disruption. Neil proactively communicated with me while everything got fixed.
The house is very nice but the pond and surrounding area are the reasons to stay here. The property's pond is beautiful, serene, and wonderful to swim in. Every night we watched the fog roll into the valley below and every morning we watched it burn off. We hiked, swam, and kayaked and ate at many great restaurants.

A perfectly peaceful vacation!
We just spent 6 nights at this beautiful Catskills property. The views were magnificent and we loved hanging out on the deck just listening to the crickets, frogs and birds and to see the occasional deer pass by.
We spent time everyday on the pond in the provided kayaks which was such a treat and one of our favorite things to do.
The property is so private and peaceful- it was exactly what we wanted. The house itself was beautifully furnished and had everything we needed. We loved playing pool with our kids and loved a dip in the hot tub.
Thank you Neil and Erin for sharing your stunning home with us and allowing us to make wonderful family memories! You are excellent hosts and we would love to return in the future!

Lovely country retreat
We had a terrific three night stay. We enjoyed the fully-stocked kitchen, large deck, grill, gorgeous field, and secluded location. We swam in the pond and soaked in the hot tub and enjoyed the pool table. Owner communicated in advance about furniture being removed due to a flood in the basement, which meant we couldn't enjoy the basement lounge area, but we were still able to use the pool table which was important for my tween son! The pond was wonderful for swimming & sunning and our dog was in heaven, running free through the field, swimming with us, and sunning on the dock. Beds were comfortable and everything clean & convenient! Nice bathroom towels, and plenty of outdoor towels provided, too. We couldn't get outdoor shower working correctly but that didn't detract from our enjoyment of the property much at all. Gorgeous view of the mountain range from the deck.

Stayed here with a small group of friends for New Years and we absolutely loved the house! We were looking for a chill getaway for the holiday and that is exactly what we got. The house came stocked with pretty much everything we needed from towels to kitchen wears and had plenty of games and things to do. The guys enjoyed the pool table downstairs and we all enjoyed the hot tub and the fireplace in the living room. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were cozy. Neil and Erin were great hosts and we hope to make it back out that way again!

We stayed at this property in October when our nephew got married at the Margaretville Mountain Inn. The proximity of the house to the venue was perfect. The house is well stocked and very comfortable. We enjoyed the deck, the beautiful Mountain View, the hot tub and the pool table. The host was very responsive and accommodating. The house would be an ideal spot for a winter getaway being so close to many ski resorts and in the summer to take advantage of the huge pond on the property.

The little added touches were very heartwarming. We were so comfortable during our stay we felt almost no need to leave the property and greatly enjoyed the hot tub, swimming in the pond, and playing games.
