About this property
Tiny Home in the Texas Hill Country - The Green Casita on Caballo Creek
This tiny house and its twin (The Blue Casita) offer luxurious Texas Hill Country accommodations that are easily accessible yet feel a world away from urban life. Reserve one Casita for your party of up to 5, or both if you need space for 10. Enjoy the Casitas’ private refuge on 55 acres surrounded by hill country views with the comforts of an upscale hotel. You may spot deer, turkey, rabbits, roadrunners and even fox from your deck.
Each Casita offers an open space with soaring ceilings that create an airiness not often found in a tiny house. The main floor features a queen bed and the loft (accessible by a ladder) offers both a full bed and a twin bed. The living room has a 60 inch Smart TV. The house provides wifi throughout. The kitchen features a dining table, microwave, coffee maker, toaster oven, electric burner, and a retro style SMEG refrigerator. Dishes, pans and utensils are included. If you prefer cooking outside, take advantage of the full-size pellet grill on your covered deck. Because of the ladder to the open loft above, the Casitas are not recommended for walking children under 6.
If you do choose to venture out of your refuge, you will find yourself conveniently located near many activities and attractions. The Casitas at Caballo Creek are situated in the middle of wineries from Fredericksburg to Driftwood, offering the perfect home base for serious wine tasting. Similarly the area is home to many distilleries and breweries.
The area is well known for its abundance of parks and swimming holes including Pedernales Falls State Park (a 5 minute drive), Hamilton Pool, Riemers Ranch Park, Blanco State Park and more.
Each conveniently located only about 20 minutes away, the towns of Dripping Springs and Johnson City boast a variety of offerings. You will find restaurant options from casual Mexican food to fine dining. Shopping includes boutiques and antiques. Dripping Springs has been called “The Wedding Capital of Texas”, and the Casita is conveniently located near a host of wedding venues. Johnson City is home to the Science Mill for children, The Exotic Resort Zoo and of course, the Lyndon Johnson Boyhood Home. If you’ld like to explore even further, you’ll be only about 45 minutes from Fredericksburg and an hour from downtown Austin.
This recently constructed property (completed in September, 2018) joins the family of vacation rentals comprising the Casitas at Caballo Creek Ranch. We stayed here for a wedding at camp Lucy and the location was perfect! Only a 15 minute drive to all events. We loved being secluded and taking morning walks on the property. The house is cute and clean.
This has quickly become our favorite place to stay in the Texas Hill Country. The property is perfect, amenities galore, and views that are unmatched. If you are looking for a place to unwind and take in the best of the Hill Country, this is the place! We love it and hope to keep returning over and over. Thank you!
Property was everything we were looking for, loved it be away from town but close enough to get to what we wanted to do. Views, day and night, were amazing
Friends got married at Maes Ridge, and this was less than a mile away. What a great spot, at the top of a hill, cozy stay, and a great view! Would definitely book again.
Green Casita is perfect for our love of Pedernales Fall SP and surrounding area. Great view of ranching valley from the porch each morning and eve. Quiet hilltop with goats and donkey nearby!!
This property is one of the most amazing places I have ever stayed. Beautiful views, quiet, and relaxing place to stay while we were in town for a wedding. Everyone in my family, adults and kids alike, enjoyed the tranquility of this property.
Nancy and Jen were amazing!
great place to unwind, stunning views of the hill country
We were attending a wedding at Mae's Ridge (4 mins away) and decided to make a weekend out of it. The location, attention to details and views of the hill country were amazing. We did the crawfish boil for dinner the first night and had breakfast at the Mexican restaurant the next morning. The host was attentive and everything you needed was provided, very clean and we always wanted to stay in a tiny home. We are considering a family weekend with both the Blue and the Green cottages in the future.
I love this cabin - it's location, view, amenities, proximity to Pedernales State Park. Everything! And Jen made sure my every need was taken care of - timely and with courtesy. Can't wait to stay here again!!
We had the absolute best experience staying at this property. We traveled with our two boys - 6&10 and the tiny home was perfect size for the 4 of us. They loved it! The outdoor fireplace/patio was a great place for us to hang out in the evenings while watching the beautiful hill country sunset. The boys loved exploring around the property. It was a great location for visiting the hill country. We hope to return again soon.

We loved our weekend getaway at the Casitas. The house is charming and comfortable. Jen and Nancy answered all of our questions before we headed in. The atmosphere is so calm and serene, honestly it was the perfect getaway for us. We went to explore Pedernales Falls nearby and other parts of Johnson City and Blanco. The fireplace, the keurig machine, the blankets there were so many little details that made our stay so amazing. We will definitely be coming back.
This tiny house was amazing. It had everything we needed and more. Coffee, shampoo, paper products, pellets for the grill, nightlights, games, maps ... were really nice to haves. The community area had an outdoor pavilion with fireplace, laundry room and ice machine. Nancy thought of everything to make our trip super enjoyable, not to mention she's a great decorator, utilizing the space of the tiny house to make it feel cozy and spacious at the same time.
This place is fantastic and exactly as described. Very clean and amenities were great. The selection of Kurieg coffee was endless that included tea and hot cocoa. The bed was extremely comfortable and the towels were so fluffy and fresh. The view was wonderful and the morning visits by the donkey and goats were a plus. The additional pavilion area was nice and would be a great getaway for 2 families to share. This is like a five minute drive to Pedernales state park which is beautiful if only we could get rain to be able to enjoy the falls and running water. The night sky and stars were amazing. Great place for couples, girls weekend or families.
There was great communication prior to our arrival & everything was just as described. Temperatures were below freezing & we arrived after dark, but yet we were pleasantly greeted with a bright porch light & a warm Casita. The automatic gate openers were appreciated, especially with 25 degree temperatures, saving us from having to get out of the truck. We had activities to tend to at Pedernales State Park & the location could not have been more convenient. We had to leave before sunrise & returned after sunset, so I can only imagine but based on the view at night I’m sure the sunrises & sunsets are spectacular. The Casita was well decorated & the beds were comfortable. Thank you for a great stay.
This place is Fantastic!!
It's Clean, Conformable. Ideal for the two of us.
(If you have a couple children would be nice, also. There's a loft that a adult can stand up in)
There is A wonderful place for a cook out with fireplace. Covered awning, tables and chairs. Refrigerator and sink for your clean up.
Washer and dryer with Ice Machine.
From one end to the other was Clean, and inviting)
We were able to visit family in the near Towns. As well as do some shopping. Retreat back at the end of the day for rest and relaxation.
The Host and assistant are very accommodating.
We will be staying again when visiting family in Texas.
Our stay at the Green Casita was absolutely incredible. The space itself is beautiful, incredibly clean, and beautifully maintained. If you are looking for a peaceful, quiet escape to unwind and relax, this is the perfect place. We loved every minute of the tranquility here and can’t wait to come back!
When our family of 5 travel, we often stay in short term accommodations. This property was hands down our favorite. The property is kept is wonderful condition and is stocked with all things needed during our stay. From bathroom essentials, to cooking spices, to-go coffee cups (genius), to plenty of small personal blankets (that we found very useful during our morning coffees on the front porch). We loved everything about this property and greatly look forward to returning.
The house is very clean, and outfitted with everything you need! Hiking the property resulted in many great photographs taken. The sunset from the front porch was beautiful.
