Villa Paradise Tahiti, an extraordinary view with a pool and jacuzzi & free car
10/10 Excellent
"With so many reviews praising properties on VRBO, it's hard to laud those special places that rise above the rest. This is one of those unique houses, both due to its location and to the incredible hospitality of its owner. Every day we were mesmerized by the changing views and colors overlooking nearby Moorea. It's like living in the glossiest travel brochure or website photos. The infinity pool fits beautifully with the views from the house, or one can simply find a spot to sit on the long terrace facing Moorea. The downside -- it's so hard to read that book you brought when the vista grabs you if you raise your eyes.Besides the well-equipped kitchen and multiple dining areas, the house has plenty of space for multiple guests to enjoy. Varied lighting highlights the premises after dark and is readily adjusted from a convenient panel near the kitchen. By design the house stretches along the mountainside high above Punaauia. From first contact, host Thierry responds quickly to any questions and offers an immense array of information. Any small problems are fixed immediately. After 12 years on Tahiti, he has access to all kinds of vendors and speaks knowledgeably about almost any activity or place on the island. When one of our party sustained an abrasion that began to appear infected, whisking us to his personal physician and the pharmacy, giving 4 hours of his time to ensure the safety and satisfaction of his guests. He is indeed an exceptional host"
"Stayed 6 nights in an overwater bungalow as part of a long trip to the islands of both Hawaii and French Polynesia. Service provided by our assigned concierge, Kea, was better than any butler service I have had over the years at other luxury hotels. The property is lovely and well kept. The bungalow was spacious, updated, and clean. Unfortunately there were a number of things that diminished the overall experience. First, the noise. I’ve stayed in overwater accommodations previously in The Maldives, Indonesia, and Colombia. I am currently at the Intercontinental La Moana in Bora Bora in an over water bungalow. It is serene and wonderful. I anticipated a similar experience of serenity and tranquility in Tahiti. But, instead, I had to listen to very loud music and announcements that went well past 10PM at night. Having traveled the world over the past 35 years I always have silicon ear plugs to dull the noise. Even with the earplugs, however, it was still loud. Some of the noise came from nearby but much of it was from the Intercontinental. In French Polynesia the year round humidity is between 80 and 90 percent. The average daily temperature hovers around 30. The fans in the dining areas were not sufficient to provide a comfortable dinning experience — even in shorts, tank top, and flip flops. The food was mediocre including at La Lotus. WiFi in room was ok but was not available in the gym and other areas of the property. This hotel pales in comparison to many other resorts."
"We were really enjoyed every minute our vacation!
The staff were excellent! I would like to say special thanks for help my request ( birthday surprise) to Maima. She did a great job to prepare my husband surprise present.
The room was spotless the restaurant was great. The bar was fun, many nights were live music on.
The beach and the ocean were clean and gorgeous. The place was overall our expectations.
We spent more than a week in the bungalow.
Highly recommend this place."
"The host family was amazing, it is a very quiet and rustic setting, incredibly peaceful! It was a great experience and was feeling like being in a friend’s guest house!"
"This wonderful home with the magnificent views was just steps from our own private beach and beautiful Tahitian waters-- where we saw manta rays and lots of gorgeous fish. The home is clean and had all the amenities needed for a most wonderful stay. The beds were confidant... showers all had excelled pressure. A/C in the bedrooms at night for a comfortable sleep. We grilled two nights on the veranda and pinched ourselves each morning that we were sitting in paradise. The house is directly across the street from La Passione, an incredible french patisserie. Terrible for my bathing suit fit - but the most magnifique almond coissant, pain aux raisin and apple tart this side of Paris. The rhum Distillery was also a treat and just a walk across the street...no DD required. We loved having a little distance from Papeete (20 minutes) to acclimate from the long trip and prepare for the cruise. And while the cruise itself was fantastic - my husband would have chosen to stay in this quiet, peaceful home with the stunning views of entire vacation. Alban was a fantastic host - friendly, kind, & responsive. We will return one day."
"The property was amazing! Our room was so comfortable and the views were stunning! We were offered an option to store our luggage after checkout the next day. Our flight was still another 14 hrs wait time! We stayed on the property and enjoyed the pool and chairs. The only problem was after mid-day there was no one to offer us waters to buy or any food. To be clear, we had purchased breakfast at the property, and we purchased 2 beers around noon. After that there was just no service through the day. Not even waters. I wish that could have been different since we were outside all day since 11:00 am. The day-room was a great haven since you can shower and dress before going to the airport that night. "
"This was truly one of the best vacations we've had and it was because of the location of this house. It was so awesome to have both the pool and the ocean to play in, and without crowding or chaos from other people. What a fantastic location! We'll definitely stay here again if we come back to Tahiti."
