If you are looking for an authentic farmhouse experience, and enjoy watching the world go by at a simple, more relaxed place, then Chalet L'Otavalo could be the place for you. Chalet L'Otavalo is a homely rustic chalet which is ideal for families with children. The views across to La Tournette are breathtaking, and we really like the fact that the owners are happy to share their family farming lifestyle with their guests.

There's plenty of room for children to let off steam in the fresh mountain air, and garden toys for children to use against a stunning Alpine backdrop. 

Free wifi, cleaning, towels & linen included.

Please note - The owners' brother lives in an apartment in the basement of the chalet, but this is fully self-contained and access is separate, so will not infringe on your privacy. The owners have retained the original low ceilings and small windows typical of farmhouses of this age.

SECURITY DEPOSIT
We require a security deposit of €1,000 via a pre-authentication of your credit or debit card, which does not affect your card balance. The pre-authentication will be released as soon as we’ve checked the property and confirmed there is no damage. This is normally done right after your stay, but it could take up to 14 days after your departure.

PLEASE NOTE
If you cancel your booking and are due a refund, we will deduct any third party payment processing or foreign exchange fees related to the booking that we have been charged from the amount refunded.

Charm, Hospitality, and Stunning Views

Our stay at this beautiful chalet was fabulous. Laurence is a lovely host, very warm and welcoming. She provided us with plenty of suggestions for exploring the local area. The views from the chalet are simply incredible; I already miss waking up surrounded by spectacular mountains. Highly recommend this home, perfect for families.

I definitely would recommend the chalet and the area

Laurence was very kind and helpful. She gave us a lot of good tips for hikes and restaurants in the area. The house is super cozy with a nice fire place and the whirlpool is perfect after an exhausting hike or bike trip, even better with the view of the mountains. Also fire wood was restored when we emptied it. All in all I definitely would recommend the chalet and the area, especially for bike riding and hiking. But also the regional specialities are excellent like reblochon cheese and the wines.

A Fantastic Stay in the Mountains

A fantastic stay in the mountains. The chalet is stunning and has everything you need. The garden was brilliant for the kids, and they even provided a highchair, baby bath, and changing station. We also enjoyed the welcome gift! The view is incredible, and with balconies on three sides, you can enjoy it at all times of the day. A brilliant place to stay.

Très belles vacances grâce à l'environnement montagneux et les nombreuses balades à faire. Dommage que le gite soit très sombre et vieillissant. Propriétaires très agréables et bien sympathiques. Néanmoins la proximité de leur habitation par rapport à la location est un point négatif.

Séjour très agréable au Chalet l’Otavalo. Le lieu est calme et paisible, animé par le chant des oiseaux et les cloches des vaches voisines. Les espaces de vie sont chaleureux, bien agencés et équipés. Les chambres sont joliment décorées et confortables. Les extérieurs ont été appréciés pour les repas, l’espace balançoire et le jacuzzi sont de vrais plus. Nous avons pu profiter de la proximité des départs de randonnées, de Thônes et d’Annecy et avons pris plaisir à échanger avec les Manigodins/es. Nous conseillons vivement l’adresse aux amoureux de la nature et de l’authenticité.

Un groupe de 6 personnes. Randonnées et VTT au programme. Ce chalet très confortable correspondait tout à fait à notre attente. Le Jacuzzi était un vrai plus après nos activités sportives. Accueil au top. Rien à redire sur cet hébergement. Merci

Une divine semaine

Pour tous ceux qui cherchent un endroit calme ,accueillant avec un décor naturel à couper le souffle,vous êtes au bon endroit. L'ancienne ferme très bien restaurée est spacieuse ,très bien équipée et fonctionnelle . L' étable se situant de l'autre côté de la route ,les enfants auront la joie d'assister chaque jour à la sortie et rentrée des vaches de l'étable en entendant les sonnailles ! voire à assister à la traite du soir. A quelques kilomètres de là, nous avons trouvé de magnifiques randonnées soit le long de cours d'eau ombragés ou en altitude dans de grands espaces somptueux. Pour les adeptes de contemplations de ciel étoilé , c'est magique . Cette famille nous a accueilli d'une façon très chaleureuse, si besoin très réactive et à la fois discrète. Nous avons donc passé une divine semaine et nous les en remercions vivement. Nos enfants et petit-fils auraient volontiers prolongé le séjour avec enthousiasme. Encore MERCI.
