The room was a non smoking room yet it had a ashtray on the dresser (which was dirty with cigarette ash) the trouser press was loosely fitted to wall with one screw and u/s a number of the pictures affixed to the wall were UPSIDE-DOWN, and the room carpet was without a relationship with a vacuum cleaner.

This hotel is like a half way house for people leaving prison. Or a place for immigrants! It's the worst hotel I've ever had the misfortune to stay in. I had to phone reception about the noise. Nothing was done so then I had to go down to reception in my pj's to complain. My granddaughter was so scared as it sounded like people were trying to get into our room. Then just as we were nodding off the fire alarm went off because people were smoking in their room. It was dirty with stains on the furniture. I wouldn't put a dog in it. Extremely unhappy. We had a really early flight to catch so I booked a hotel so we didn't have to get up at 1am but we would of had more sleep at home. Never ever again!!!!!!

Cheap but not so cheerful
Windows were streaming with condensation on the inside, running damp down the wall. Room was comfortable although cold even with the heating on, but there were extra covers and pillows available. On check in no information was given re: room location or breakfast, literally just given a key. So I asked, as I assumed this information would be given as a matter of introduction. The lift was out of order and the room was on the third floor. Difficult for other guests with young children. There was only one member of staff serving breakfast and manning the reception, so had to go between the two, leaving guests frustrated and the breakfast cold. A help yourself breakfast but no information given until told by the one staff member. For parking is free if you look towards streets two blocks away. Overall cheap for bed and breakfast.

Reception smells of poo.. Girl on reception filthy dirty and has no idea at all of customer greeting etc .. The whole place need a wash and clean including the receptionist ..

Very Disappointing.
When I checked in the first question I asked was is the room heating working? The receptionist checked it and confirmed that it was. The next morning my room was freezing and despite several representations to various staff this was not rectified for the length of my stay(4 days). Eventually, I had to request a large duvet to keep warm!! Secondly, there were no toiletries in the bathroom, nor for the whole of my stay. Thirdly upon checking out, I had to throw my key onto the chair at reception as no-one was manning the desk.

Simple and basic
Great for a place to sleep, but a very basic hotel. The pillows on the bed was thin, and the room was a little tatty. But we needed a quick last minute hotel and this was the only place in the area not fully booked.

Clean but very tired
The room was clean. It was in poor condition though, the window didn’t close and leaked. There was a huge rip in the chair, the light didn’t work, the plug socket sparked when a plug was put in it, 2 of the drawer fronts came off when I opened a drawer. It was pretty grim.

Old Hotel. Needs Refurbishment. No parking at thr hote,unless you arrive after 6pm there is a publec pay and display ar park just few seconds of walk at the back of the hotel where parking is free from 6pm till 8am.

You get what you pay for
You get what you pay for and this is a very cheap hotel right in the centre of Hale within walking distance of the station to Manchester for very little money. The building is tired, the décor is poor and there were a number of things that I might have complained about if it wasn't so cheap. For the price though, the hotel represents reasonable value - particularly if you literally just need a bed to sleep in.

I told the man at reception I was going to complain.Firstly the stair carpet is filthy,what a first impression.. The room smelled of cannabis smoke. There was not an inside catch on the door, no shower gel, shampoo, the phone didn't work. If you looked out of the window there was alovely view of rubbish on the roof below.. Wifi only in the downstairs area so no good for business use. I had a lot of work to do on the Saturday. There was a bag of take away cartoons and food(a full carrier bag0 which was there for a day and was smelling.I have stayed in Britannia Hotels before but this was the dirtiest and worst hotel I have ever been in- really shocking. Are you going to do something about my concern? Byron Williams.
