"This place offers an affordable price compared to other hotels in Traverse City. I chose it mainly to have a place to sleep. I used silicone ear plugs to help with noise since the air conditioning unit and traffic can be loud. It has excellent hot water and a small refrigerator, which I really appreciate. There is plenty of parking. I will stay at this place again."

"The Tamarack Lodge is beautiful. The lodge vibe gave such a cozy feeling. The dark wood details along with the stained glass lamps in the lobby. There were even stained glass sconces lining the hallways. We had a water view from our balcony and there was a fireplace in our room adding to the over all lodge vibe. The bathtub looked very enticing but a little intimidating. I did not try it. The only reason(s) for the 4 star rating is: 1) The refrigerator would not get cool. We informed staff that it wasn’t working and they said they’d have someone look it. But no one ever did. 2) There was no comfy chair in the room. There were two hard wooden desk chairs but no comfy chair. I don’t like to sit on the bed to read or watch tv. 3) Finally, on our 2nd day there we were locked out of our building. Not a big deal, just a minor inconvenience to walk next door and get new key cards made. All of these things would not prevent me from staying there again, it really is a lovey hotel."
