"The hotel itself was nice enough but we were very disappointed on arrival to find that the bar and the restaurant were both closed for reasons my Spanish was not good enough to understand. The promised restaurants in the village turned out to also be closed but we were eventually able to find some snacks at a bar. Having specifically booked a place with bar and restaurant it is very annoying to have to traipse around finding something to eat after a day's travelling. "

"El pueblo muy bonito. El hotel en líneas generales bien, la atención es mejorable, falta personal y la responsable siempre quiere tener la última palabra y la razón. Pusimos el cartel de no molestar y entraron sin permiso a hacer la cama sin apenas limpiar. Pocos detalles, pedí el primer día leche de avena y de los cuatro que estuve no compró, pero si me cobró por 4 cafés y una tostada sin nada, 16 euros. "

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Mamolar?
The best area to stay in Mamolar is within the village itself, particularly around the central square and main streets.

Mamolar is a small, traditional Castilian village, and its charm lies in its compact nature. The main area is centred around the Plaza Mayor, a typical Spanish square often bustling with local life. The village is characterised by its stone houses, narrow, winding streets, and a relaxed pace. You'll find the church, a few local eateries, and the village's cultural centre within a short stroll.

For couples seeking a peaceful retreat, staying directly within Mamolar offers an authentic experience. You'll be well-placed to enjoy quiet walks through the countryside, explore the local architecture, and savour meals at the village's traditional restaurants. It's an ideal base for unwinding and connecting with the natural beauty of the region.

Families will also find Mamolar appealing due to its intimate size and friendly atmosphere. Children can enjoy the open spaces around the village, and the lack of heavy traffic makes it a relaxed environment for everyone.
When is the best time to go to Mamolar?
The best times to visit Mamolar are during the spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) months.

During these periods, the weather is pleasantly mild, making it ideal for exploring the natural beauty of the region. You'll find comfortable temperatures for hiking in the nearby Sierra de la Demanda, and the countryside is often at its most picturesque, with spring blossoms or autumn colours.

Couples looking for a peaceful escape will appreciate the tranquil atmosphere and the opportunity for scenic walks without the crowds of peak summer. The mild weather allows for relaxed days spent exploring the historic villages and enjoying local cuisine.

For families, spring and autumn offer a comfortable climate for outdoor activities like cycling or picnicking in the natural parks. The cooler temperatures are also more suitable for visiting local attractions without the intense heat of summer.

While summer (July and August) is also popular, it can be quite hot, especially in the middle of the day.
