I was completing a teaching placement in the area, and was looking forward to staying out in Malmsbury! Unfortuantly, this place was a significant let down. Pros, the kitchen was super to work with! Stoves, oven, fridge, sink and microwave gave me no issues! The house was also very well insulated, it stayed the same temperature without turning on the heating or cooling. Internet was also great, and the location is perfect, being walking distance to both the Vline and town.Cons, boy there are many. The main issue was that the house is advertised incorrectly. I arrived on my first afternoon, met the host, and discovered that the host's mum lives at the end of the hallway behind a locked door, not intruding in my space at all, but not adhering to the private 2 bedroom place that was advertised. The bedrooms and bathroom weren't particularly clean, with one room being covered in cobwebs and spiders, and the bathroom having mold in the shower as well as significant dust (and more cobwebs). The biggest knife I had to work with was a steak knife, one of which had the handle literally coming apart. I was unable to cut things as simple as onions without great effort. Further, there was a blender left on the kitchen bench which had mold, broken glass, and wouldn't be safe to use in the slightest. It seems the place is not ready for guests, it has potential but is not at the point of staying in currently.
