The best area to stay in Maliya is near the Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, as it offers the most convenience for visitors.

This area is the heart of Maliya, with the prominent Shri Swaminarayan Mandir being the central landmark. The main road, which runs directly past the temple, is where you'll find the majority of the town's facilities, including guesthouses, local eateries, and small shops. It's a compact area, making it easy to get around on foot.

For families, staying close to the Mandir is particularly practical. The temple itself is a significant attraction, and its surroundings provide easy access to basic amenities. It simplifies logistics, especially when travelling with children, as everything you might need is within a short walk or a quick auto-rickshaw ride.

Solo travellers will also find this area suitable. The concentration of facilities means you're never far from a place to eat or find assistance.

The best time to visit Maliya is during the cooler, drier months from October to March.

During these months, the weather is pleasant with comfortable temperatures, making it ideal for exploring the region's attractions. You'll find clear skies and a gentle breeze, great for outdoor activities and sightseeing without the intense heat or humidity. This period also often coincides with local festivals, offering visitors a chance to experience the region's cultural richness.

For those planning to visit the nearby Rann of Kutch, these months are particularly good as the salt desert is dry and accessible, and the famous Rann Utsav festival typically runs from late October to early March.
