"WELL RUN & APPOINTED HOTEL"
Truly a hassle free holiday. Malaga city surprised everyone in the party. A good balance of quality shopping, historic sights and places of interest. Two very pleasant beaches and a marina area. A busy, vibrant city with always something to do or new to see. With over 1500 restaurants and eateries it is a foodie heaven with every conceivable taste catered for. The city is also well connected for railway travel throughout Spain. Cruising at 185mph on the AVE high speed train is a memorable experience. The local trains are very good too.

"Lovely Spanish family complex"
We were very pleasantly surprised by the apartment, it was clean and very traditional. Two great size bedrooms with a dining area and kitchen with WM in the downstairs bathroom. The pool was only a short walk and was lovely. Great little restaurant on site with a small supermarket. The only downside was the hill, if you are fit it will not be a problem though..overall would definitely go back but hire a car.

"Right on beach close to Puerto Banus"
Hotel nice enough. Not great English speaking. Breakfast pretty poor. Contenental breakfast, cooked breakfast canteen style help self. Egg, bacon and sausage. Not very good always cold. Staff round pool not very hot on getting drinks. Slow and look unhappy. Towel man very nice and helpful. Reception nice and helpful, always happy to arrange taxi. Overall ok acceptable for short stay.

"Vary basic but yet welcoming"
Me and my boyfriend stayed at Pinomar in Jul 08, on arrival, we did feel that the hotel had been misold in that it was only a 3 star whereas on the Expedia website it stated that it was a 4 star - had we have known this we would have re-considered booking it. Our room was very small and basic and had no balcony. This hotel has only spanish holiday makers therefore, the Hotel staff spoke very little English but however, were very hospitable and friendly. The pool was cosy and had a water slide, and it had a real family atmosphere. The hotel's location is also misold as it is at least 8 km away from Marbella city and therefore can get costly to get taxis to and fro. Nevertheless, and despite all the above, we did not let it hinder out trip and we had a fantastic time! I would definatley go back to Marbella because it is a fantsastic place, with amazing beaches that have clear waters and Marbella Centre has a real buzz about it, day and night. As for the Pinomar, Mmmmmm not so sure!!!

"Clean, Cheap, and Cute"
I was looking for a cheap Hostal near the Malaga Airport and chose this since it is only a 15 minute train ride from it. The biggest benefit: 10 minute walk to the train station. What's weird is that Malaga plays down the fact that Torremolinos is closer to the Malaga Airport than downtown Malaga itself. I guess the two towns are in competition for tourists. In any case, this hostal was a lot better than expected. It was clean and recently redecorated with tasteful Ikea furnishings (there's an Ikea near by) and the staff were very nice. The building is located in a pretty, secluded garden-like complex with white stucco and a giant tree and lush landscaping. Plus a terrace. The only downside is that you have to walk on some dicey sidewalks with speedy cars to get to the beach, which is a 20 minute walk. I saw a recently dead cat on the way. However, I would much rather stay at Gerainos than some of the cheesy hotels near the beach. Torremolinos is not the prettiest nor most subtle beach town, but if you are spending a day in or near Malaga before heading home, this town and this hostal might be the ticket, especially if you are down on your Euros having spent too much of them in Barcelona and Granada, like me.
