"Beautifully laid out hotel"
We had an excellent Premium room with side sea view with plenty of space and very comfortable beds. The hotel is rather isolated and a car is probably required. (Pay parking!!! -not so good). Also food and drink are very expensive in the hotel. 21 Euros for a burger in the pool bar/restaurant is rather much. The check- in was efficient and the staff were excellent. Overall, a fine hotel if you are not too concerned with price and are happy to be "well away from the action".

"Amazing hotel"
Fantastic hotel close to Puerto Banus. Loved this hotel which has been recently refurbished. We stayed here as we wanted to be close to Puerto Banus but not have the noise of staying in a central location. The perfect compromise. Great hillside views. There is a free shuttle bus that can take you into town we caught a taxi on the way back which was approximately 12-15 euros. The only downside to this hotel is that the whole hotel has been refurbished except for the bathrooms which look a little bit tatty.

"A little but of Heaven at Shanti Som"
Without a doubt the most tranquil and serene holiday we ever had. The staff, food, atmosphere and venue were outstanding in every way. Set in the mountains a short drive away from Marbella and to various other small Spanish villages. Also a short drive from good way marked hiking routes of various lengths/difficulty levels and Shanti Som staff very obliging in making up packed lunches. Left feeling very healthy, calm and reinvigorated.

"Major points of stay"
1. This is not a hotel, it is an apartment in what looks like a time-share complex. 2. The apartment was excellent and fully equipped but the following should be noted: a) The two bathrooms are quite small. b) Main bathroom bath/shower is difficult to get in/out so seniors look-out. c) Hot water is limited to capacity of electric tank. d) Not the easiest of places to find. e) Pillows were not comfortable. f) Has its own parking area in communal garage but not the easiest to get in/out. g) There is a fully-equipped kitchen but no coffee or water (other than tap water) available for when you arrive. h) You will need to rent a car since the complex is not walking distance from amenities. 3. The location is not by or close to the seaside.

"Great hotel, with an interesting history!"
My family (me, my wife and 2 young children) stayed here for 2 nights in a Superior Apartment - it was beautiful and the jacuzzi on the balcony was awesome to have...the kids loved it! Large suite (2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, lounge/dining area, kitchen, and a huge balcony were ideal - very quiet too...soundproofed rooms apparently! The hotel itself is old school opulence, although some recent tough times meant that the restaurants and bar are were closed. Don't let this put you off - it's ideal for a family getaway and the pool is great too. Supermarkets are nearby and it's just a 5-10mins walk to the beautiful Casablanca beach, which has some lovely restaurants and plenty of drinks/snacks kiosks too. We loved it and will be going back again!!

"Best location in Málaga! "
I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. To manage people's expectations, don't expect anything fancy; where this hotel shines is location, location, location, customer service, clean rooms and a delicious, varied breakfast. If you want everything in Málaga at your finger tips, stay here! It's a 5-7 minute walk to the beach. A 2 minute walk to the Puerto de Málaga (the port) and Centre Pomidou Málaga (outdoor shopping center) and then a 13-15 minute walk to the city center where all the top restaurants, bars and sites are. Additionally the hotel is very close to the bullring and the entrances of Alcazaba and Castillo de Gibralfaro. The rooms are relatively ok size for a European hotel and the housekeeping is good (they actually mopped the floors!). Everyday breakfast is served from 7:30-11am. It contains different types of cooked eggs, hot meats, cold deli meats & varied cheeses, pastries, breads, cereals, juices, yogurts and a wonderful potpourri of fresh fruits: both pre-sliced fresh melons (not from the can) and whole apples, oranges, peaches, kiwis, nectarines, pears, grapefruit. We had a early flight out last morning and they packed a to-go breakfast bag for us as well.

"Nice basic hotel close to town"
Room was clean and sheets and towels changed daily. Bedside facilities very poor. Broken from wall and only one plug. I needed the fridge to store some eye drops but this meant no bedside light.
